Sean Bielat Crushes Barney Frank in Debate on WGBH’s Greater Boston

Emily Rooney moderated a debate between Barney Frank and Sean Bielat on October 14th. Rooney starts by noting that Bielat has come from outside of politics to be a surprisingly strong challenge to Frank. She calls it the “race everyone is talking about.”

As usual, Frank does most of the talking. Bielat has been learning how to get Frank to hang himself, and at many points during the debate, Frank does just that. Bielat has Frank almost stuttering and blabbering trying to make complex arguments that appear to make no sense.

Rooney had to cut Frank off several times in what seemed like an act of charity. Bielat speaks for maybe one fifth of the time, and wins easily.

Debate Highlights: Frank’s “Kerry Waffling” Moment

If you watch nothing else, you must see the exchange starting at about 6:50, where Bielat gets Frank into a Kerry-like “I was for it before I was against it” argument. Frank is talking about his opposition to a failed 2005 Bill that would have reformed Fannie Mae:

Frank: “The bill passed the house, so I could hardly be blamed [for opposing it].”

Bielat: “Even though you voted against it?”

Frank: “Yes, I can’t be blamed. It passed the House.”

Bielat: “But you voted against it.”

Frank: “Let me explain. I voted for it in committee. [later] I voted against it because it weakened an unrelated provision. But you can’t blame me for stopping something when I was in the minority.”

Bielat: “No. If you voted against it, I think I can.”

Frank: “But I didn’t stop it. This is what you don’t understand. The bill passed the House where I served…”

Bielat: “At the end of the day you still voted against the bill.”

Its annoying the GOP never put a Conservative up against this babbling idiot two decades ago.

Massachusetts has an overwhelming Democrat voter registration advantage and Barney Frank (of Newton) usually wins re-election handily. I'm sure the RNC stopped putting any real money into Massachusetts races a long time ago, especially against an entrenched liberal such as Barney Frank. However, this is a new era. The Tea Party is a grass roots movement ignited by the destructive actions of the Democrats, now exposed by their actions in congress and the White House as the elitist dictators they always wanted to be. Even Barney Frank will have to fight for his re-election, which is no longer a sure thing. About time.

Isn't that how Barney is on any given day of the week?

Liz, you are just so "gender-normative," (politically correct way to say "homophobic). Barney's hands never left the table, which is probably why he was tongue-tied.

As far as his debate performance, Barney scored major points by being so "vulnerable." He is the "victim" here and Aunt Zeituni and her supporters will rush to defend him. Remember this is Massachusetts, where Saint Ted scored his first victory because the voters felt sorry for the way he was mistreated by that brute Fitzpatrick.

Also, Barney (aka The Bugger of Bayonne) is to be commended for NOT having his hysterical young catamite rush the stage and make a scene. All in all, this appearance, which would have been counted as a disgraceful loss in a state something like Montana, and where B the B of B would have been laughed out of town or worse, is a Major Massachusetts Victory for the Sodomite Democrat,

They’ve had Bawney for so long it’s like a bad habit ...

You would think more than half the voters would notice that their representative is a radical leftist homosexual whoremonger who is dishonest even when compared to other Democrat congresspeople ... but maybe they like that and consider him an accurate representative of themselves.

"Bielat has Frank almost stuttering and blabbering..."

Well, nothing against Bielat, but that's no big accomplishment!

Opinion follows: Let me qualify by stating that I despise Barney Frank and almost everything he stands for. I did watch the entire video.

Barney has been on O’Reilly several times and typically wins on debate points. In this debate, Barney was his typical droning and overbearing self. He sat slumped in the chair and did not look anywhere near as professional as Bielat. A lot of the discussion was over the heads of most of the voters in Taxachussetts. From a strictly debate standpoint (as viewed by voters) Barney got in as many shots (even if most were lies) as did his opponent. So from that standpoint, the debate was a draw.

In the final analyis, however, the idiots in his district will likely re-elect the homo.

Dear Liz,
Thank you for sympathetic reaction to my brutalization at the hands of that hunky Marine. What a tease! I thought he was "coming on to me, but then ... those questions ... from Hell! So glad you understand, as those evangelical neanderthals from the southern part of my district so obviously do not!

Confident of victory because of support from friends like you, I look forward to redecorating my flat in DC, and if you're ever in town after you and your girl-and girl-boy-gang in Newton vote for me, I would appreciate your reaction to the new curtains in my breakfast nook.

Fondest Regards,
Barney

Dear Barney,

Why don’t you go perform an anatomical impossibility with yourself.

Barney raised strawmen after strawman.. so fast they all couldnt possibly be addressed..
Thats what he does... talk so fast the strawmen couldnt all be addressed..
He goes in many directions... on purpose..

BUT he zeros in at the end of the diatribe to appear to be cogent..
What Bielat did was hang onto one(of the) strawman like the grim reaper..
Thats the clue.. expose his circle jerk gambit..
Frank masterbates the issues by raising issues not spoken of..
then returns to the issue at hand.. the con is confusing the issue by non issues..
THEN expecting "you" make sense of what he just almost said...

Appears to work too... unless you(the opponent) exposes the gambit..

Actually, if you look back to 1982, the GOP NEVER even tried, which is why this babbling idiot has won ‘easily’.
