NYT: NAACP Releases Report on Tea Party
New York Times ^ | October 20, 2010 | KATE ZERNIKE

Posted on 10/20/2010 9:16:32 AM PDT by maggief

The nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization declares the Tea Party “permeated with concerns about race” in a new report that is likely to reignite a feud between the two groups.

The report by the NAACP, released Wednesday morning, argues that Tea Party groups “have given platform to anti-Semites, racists, and bigots,” and have attracted white nationalists looking for recruits.

“The Tea Party movement has unleashed a still inchoate political movement who are in their numerical majority, angry middle class white people who believe their country, their nation, has been taken from them,” argues the report, called Tea Party Nationalism.

An organization based on race is concerned about racism.

Isn't that special?

Who Is Leonard Zeskind

Written by Leonard Zeskind | 06 November 2007

Who is Leonard Zeskind?

After writing on the topics of racism, anti-Semitism and the white supremacist movement for more than thirty years, my book, Blood and Politics: The History of the White Nationalist Movement from the Margins to the Mainstream, has been published by Farrar Straus & Giroux.

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation awarded me one of its famous five year fellowships in 1998, the so-called genius grants. I became a Petra Foundation Fellow in 1992 and was given the “Owen Bieber Civil Rights Award” by the Civil Rights Department of the United Automobile Workers Union in 1993. And in 1987 I received the Columbia University School of Journalism Paul H. Tobenkin Award for my contribution to an award-winning edition of the Spokane Spokesman-Review.

I am a life time member of the NAACP, have in the past served on the board of directors of the Petra Foundation and the Kansas City Jewish Community Relations Bureau. And I am president of the Institute for Research & Education on Human Rights, which examines racism, anti-Semitism and far-right social movements; analyzes their intersection with civil society and social policy; educates the public; and assists in the protection and extensions of human rights.

Almost three decades ago, I began researching and writing regularly with a portable typewriter and plastic press-on letters. I have been published in The American Prospect, Rolling Stone, The Nation, The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, among other periodicals. Now I am also producing a regular cyberspace bulletin, The Zeskind Fortnight. In addition, this website re-captures many of the articles, opinion pieces and essays that have been published over the years, with additional material periodically added to this archive.

Before turning to research and writing and professional human rights activism, I worked in heavy industry: on the warehouse dock of a lamp factory, on an automobile plant assembly line, and in steel fabrication shops helping to build large girders, columns, trusses, and other pieces of the architecture of manufacturing. It is work that I enjoyed and still believe remains undervalued. I am a high school graduate, and others consider me a self-taught independent scholar.

I remain a life-long activist with the hope of repairing a badly torn world.

Time for the tea party to release a report on NAACP racism.

“The nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization declares the Tea Party “permeated with concerns about race” “

#1 The irony isnt lost on me either.

#2 Didn’t someone at the DNC not think this was a really STUPID time to piss us off Tea Party people more?

It notes that several black congressmen accused Tea Party supporters of shouting racial epithets at them in March, during a rally against health care legislation on Capitol Hill.

A shining example of what is wrong at the NAACP . The stunning absence of supporting evidence is irrelevant to them.

Who cares? Tell when someone more relevant like Stephen Colbert or P-Diddy report their findings.

So what's the problem?

Well, I am releasing a report that the NAACP has become a home for angry black people who are still mad over slavery, which ended over a hundred years ago.

And I think the NAACP is a breeding ground that attracts people looking for recruits for the black panthers.

It’s garbage. The MSM has been losing power this election, after crowning our latest empty suit, Obama. THEY made this mess, and people are aware of it. They are trying to reassert themselves, but very few are falling for it.

This is so blatantly political given the timing of the release within two weeks of an election that it will be have no effect. Everyone is sick of this kind of political wrangling. We have real problems to solve. Gone are the days where we had the luxury of political posturing.

YAAWN!
What is an NAACP?
They are getting less relevant by the minute, from too many false cries of “wolf!”
Another laughable attempt from the super racist NAACP, to run defense for the Kenyan Marxist in Chief, for the sole reason that he is black.

Amazing. The Tea Party party participants are probably the only people who really want the Black community to actually do well and prosper. If they prosper then all Americans prosper.

If Timothy McVeigh had been a Christian
American Thinker ^ | 8/16/2010 | Jack Cashill

In fact, Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVeigh, was a self-proclaimed atheist, whose mantra was “Science is my religion.” That, of course, did not stop the media and the self-appointed liberal “watchdogs” from blaming the bombing of the Murrah Building on the Christian right.

Chief among the watchdogs in the Midwest, perhaps nationwide, is one Leonard Zeskind, an unrepentant Marxist-Leninist and author of the paranoid classic, Blood and Politics: The History of the White Nationalist Movement from the Margins to the Mainstream.

Words have meanings.

If this is a ‘report’ then Fort Knox is a log cabin.

It is propaganda - desperate, day-late-and-dollar-short propaganda, but propaganda nevertheless.

"An organization based on race is concerned about racism."

Wasn't it Jesse Jackson who called New York "Hymie Town". No racism there.
