Dems call for McCain investigation

National Democrats have asked the Federal Election Commission to investigate whether Arizona Sen. John McCain violated campaign finance laws when his campaign paid to run ads for Republican House candidates in Arizona — charges the McCain campaign said are “baseless.”

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee filed a FEC complaint Tuesday against McCain and his campaign committee, Friends of John McCain, because of recent ads backing Ruth McClung, the GOP nominee in Arizona’s 7th District, and Jesse Kelly, who is running in the 8th District. The complaint also asks the FEC to investigate whether McClung, Kelly and their respective campaign committees were in violation of campaign finance laws.

The TV commercials for Kelly and McClung include the standard disclaimer required by McCain’s namesake landmark campaign finance legislation, “paid for by Friends of John McCain,” and feature McCain himself announcing, “I’m John McCain and I approve this message.”

Yet if McCain is spending more than $4,800 on each ad — the legal limit for a political contribution — it’s likely he’s breaking the campaign finance law, Democrats say in the complaint.

Well, who came up with such a stupid law in the first place?

Oh, yeah. Heh, heh.

This will be good for conservatives. If the Lib Left REALLY goes after McCain, he will hate them, and not cooperate with him.

You are on the wrong forum, dude. You aren’t long for FR.

J.D. Hayworth showed himself to be a sleazy, slimy politician with the “Free Money” infomercial.

John McCain’s a Progressive (ya know, the guys who gave us Prohibition and the Income Tax).

I’d much prefer a sleazy, slimy politician over a Progressive.

” Everything would have been different if McCain was president now. He knew how to get things done. He is a great American ‘conservative’, and popular with those Tucson Hispanics too. Especially the new ones the just ‘immigrated’ yesterday. And NBC likes him. He has a great shot for 2012. “

LOL!

“The complaint also asks the FEC to investigate whether McClung, Kelly and their respective campaign committees were in violation of campaign finance laws.”

Another BS accusation against the Republicans. I thought the libtards would run on ObamaCare, instead they run away from it. Looks like they’ve backed off on the Chamber of Commerce and found new targets.

As I said before, I hate GWB so much more than John McCain.

GWB was a complete dummy who gave us Barack H. Obama.

I cant argue with your points on Bush. Bush got a chance to do big things, good or bad, that McCain never got, fortunately. McCain losing 2008 shutoff his potential for bad. I could not take another 4 years of McCain after the last two of Bush. They were torture. At least with Obama, Republicans and independents can unite against democrats. With RINO presidents Bush or McCain Republicans are split in civil war when they (RINO presidents) work with Dems on stuff like amnesty.

There is a whole Bush worship club here, although the numbers of them have dropped dramatically when he bailed out GM with TARP money. The remaining ones claim he never did bail out GM and that Obama should be impeached for doing it. Not kidding....

Of course it’s a frivolous attack by the DCCC. McCain has lawyers who check everything he does to make sure it’s completely legal. This is just a baseless political attack by the democRATs, who think it might get them a few more votes in Arizona.

This is obviously a frivolous, baseless political attack by the democRATS, and you should have noted that in your initial comments instead of adding another baseless attack on McCain. Are you really so gullible that you’re fooled by simple-minded RAT political attacks?

Don’t give up your day job to become a humorist.

At any rate I would prefer McCain over the lyin’ little traitorous RAT currently scurrying around the White House and screwing us over at every opportunity.

Actually you just sound like an idiot.

No one here has defended McCain though anyone with integrity must lay off supporting lyin’ RATS and their baseless charges against him thus one must conclude you are a lyin’ RAT yourself.

You can long for McCain as president if you want to. I see Obama as the woodpecker and McCain as the termite. You RINO lovers claim the termites are better to have in the wood because you can't see the damage (till it is too late and the whole house falls down). But the woodpecker (Obama) provided a noisy target that could be rallied against.

If McCain was president working with Pelosi on bills she (Pelosi) would have a 100 seat house majority next year instead of being canned as Speaker like she will be next year.

I remember how many times McCain went on NBC Meet The Press and stabbed conservatives in the back to get Democrats praise. I will never shed a tear for him politically.
