McConnell: 'GOP Leadership United to Repeal Obamacare'
Human Events ^ | Thursday, October 21, 2010 | Connie Hair

Much back and forth has gone on this week over whether Republicans are committed to the repeal of the government takeover of health care known as Obamacare.

The so-called mainstream media has gotten into the act in an effort to suppress Republican voter turnout. Having a great deal invested in the Obama façade they created, the media is once again in full protect mode trying to help Democrats avoid an out-and-out slaughter on Nov. 2.

The only way to suppress GOP turnout is if disheartened voters believe their efforts to expel Democrats won’t make a difference in policy. And the “non-partisan” media is doing everything it can to give that impression.

One example came late yesterday when the Associated Press (AP) wire service reported that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was willing to work with the White House to compromise on the repeal of Obamacare.

Having reported earlier in the day a McConnell statement to radio talk show host Laura Ingraham on October 7 that McConnell was committed to a full repeal of the bill, we asked for a clarification from the Republican Leader’s office.

Sen. McConnell responded.

“While we were unable to block the Democrats from passing the health spending bill—the single worst piece of legislation that’s passed since I’ve been in the Senate—the Republican leadership in the House and Senate is committed to its repeal. While Democrats will filibuster our efforts, and if we’re successful the President will veto, I believe we should give them that opportunity. We should vote, again, for repeal,” McConnell told HUMAN EVENTS. “Americans have spoken out, loud and clear, and we heard them. Repeal is part of the Pledge to America, and the Republican leadership is united in that effort.”

BTW, Medicare Part D is now over $50 billion in the hole and is projected to be $140 billion in the hole by 2018. Source - Medicare.gov (IOW, the numbers are likely grossly undestated) McConnell knew this boondoggle would be in red ink the moment he voted for it, but he did it anyway. He also knew that Medicare and Socialist (in)Security were going broke, yet he voted for it anyway.

McConnell (R) KY - Aye

It should be obvious to everyone that McConnell is a big part of the problem, not part of the solution!

The liberal media weren’t the only ones reporting it. Sources close to the establishment were telling people like Rush the GOP’s motives were suspect. Palin and DeMint (a sitting Senator) have been out there issuing warnings.

We’ll see McConnell. Just remember third party IS on the table.

Conservatives need to unite and make a pledge to throw out any Republican in 2012 that “crosses the aisle” and make deals with the RAT party on any of these major SOCIALISM programs like Obamacare, Cap and Tax, TARP, Porkulus, tax increases (Bush expiration and VAT) and equally important any nomination to the Courts.

This is why the TP movement is even more important AFTER the election. The Dems are deaf to our plight and the Republicans are very hard of hearing. Well,we will get the megaphone out and scream into their ears until their bodies shake.

And they have only been able to do this, because McConnell is limp wristed and hasn’t been clear enought about his plan to repeal. If the GOP had nationalized the election on the repeal of healthcare, the MSM wouldn’t have any ability to make conservative voters doubt.

Excellent point. Now, because of this, how much health care repeal interference and obfuscation do you suppose the corrupt MSM will tirelessly generate once Conservative win back control?

The ruling class thinks that if the Repubs take the House and, perhaps, both House and Senate, the Tea Party and activist Americans will go back to sleep. These ruling class dinosaurs, like Sen. McConnell, are part of the problem and they just DON'T get it.

The RINOs have to be made extinct. The Donkeys need to be neutered and marginalized.

What the Republicans need is leaders with the courage of lions; what's not needed is a bunch of sheep leading an army of lions. McConnell is a sheep — and we all can name the sheeple “leaders” among the Repubs in the Senate (and House).

Bottom line to all the to-be empowered Republicans in the House and Senate: You'd BETTER have a plan to take action against Obama’s agenda. the American people don't want “compromise” or “reaching out” to Donkeys — the want Obamaism stopped dead in its tracks, defunded, rolled back, and repealed. We want you to put your political lives at risk and to grow a spine of steel and cajones of brass. No compromise. No retreat. No surrender, Attack, attack, attack and EXPLAIN why you are fighting Obama’s idiotic and disastrous policies.

SWAMP Boehner and McConnell with calls, emails, letters TELLING them to work toward the repeal of obamacare in any and all ways possible. Filibuster, defund. Get their hands dirty and sweat a little, and get off their butts and stand up and speak up loud and clear and take a STAND....we want to hear em’ and see em’, dammit! Period!

DOWN WITH SOCIALISM. PERIOD!

NO COMPROMISING IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM WITH THIS SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT. PERIOD!

SUPPORT CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES WHO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION, LIBERTY AND FREEDOM. PERIOD!

We will accept nothing less from Republicans. And we will kick their asses out IF they refuse to listen to WE THE PEOPLE. Period!!

People need to remember that it's not a done deal that Boehner and McConnell will be the Majority Leaders in their respective legislative bodies in the first place. They have to be elected to these positions by the Republican members of the House and Senate if the Republicans do indeed gain majorities in those bodies. Personally, I think there are much better choices at this time to fill those positions. We're either going to flush out the old guard and be done with them for good or we aren't.
