Sluthood wasn't always considered a virtue. Most normal, rational people look at sleeping around as something sad and wrong. It's not healthy, physically or mentally, it can be damaging to a young girl's reputation, and it can also be incredibly dangerous. Women that sleep around oftentimes end up feeling used and regret their choices when they get older and decide to settle down. Other women end up contracting STDs, which may or may not be treatable. For these reasons and more, being a slut is understandably looked down upon -- it can be genuinely harmful. Today's pseudo-feminists, however, have turned that common sense logic on its head.

Sluthood is now, unbelievably, looked at in their eyes as healthy and empowering. Sleeping with random men every night is not sleeping around, it's "embracing your sexuality." This attitude has trickled down into our everyday culture, and it's had an effect on young girls. Almost two-thirds of teenagers who do have sex end up wishing they hadn't. Teens who have sex early are more likely to be depressed or suicidal. And while femisogynists act as if birth control and condoms makes sex absolutely risk-free, the truth is not quite as clear. The emotional consequences are clear; physically, the truth is simply that condoms are not foolproof. Consider that 1 in 4 teenage girls now have an STD. And pregnancy can only reliably be prevented through abstinence, something teenage girls need to know, considering that teenage mothers are significantly more likely to live in poverty and rely on welfare.

Now women and men are imitating the ‘norms’ of severely emotionally and psychologically damaged people ... I would have to say that it frightens me to think of the life my children will have to lead to avoid getting badly hurt.

Having grown up in Palm Springs in the '70s, I know exactly what your kids face. Thank God that they have you to watch out for them; my parents were clueless. My wife and I moved out of California just to have the chance of bringing up children remotely normally; no TV, either.

It’s almost like there really is some male conspiracy to degrade women — except so-called feminists are the ones actually perpetuating it.

It never ceases to amaze me how these orthodox feminists blatantly support policies that actually hurt women’s interests in the long run. I’ve had a few discussions with these women and they simply could not understand that
a) Self control is the only real empowerment and
b) I was not a self-loathing woman, a puritanical bigot, or a sweet but brainwashed idiot for refusing to have sex before marriage and
c) They do NOT represent my interests so they cannot claim to represent ALL women without admitting they think they know what’s good for me more than I myself do. Which is exactly the same thing they accuse conservatives of doing.

I don’t find it hateful at all.
I find it to be truthful, however, that is not at all what this article is talking about.

It’s talking about the push by some women to make other women into sluts, especially young women. You’ll always have sluts. But most young women like relationships with sex as they icing on the cake. These women want them to look for sex first, because they do. Our society sexualizes everything.

No need to look any farther than FreeRepublic for examples of that statement. Threads that have absolutely nothing to do with sex, sexuality, or anything remotely related to the subject can be filled with photos of scantily clad women and “I’d hit it” references. It’s ridiculous.

My parents were useless too. Failed, I didn’t end up pregnant, but I didn’t get help getting out of an abusive (verbally and emotionally) relationsihp and I had someone help me develop the confidence to drop him, but Dad didn’t do anything, didn’t even try.

In defense of sluts.

In purely biological terms, there may be a good reason for sluts to exist. It boils down to a simple problem. There are numerous people who should not reproduce. For whatever reason, they are reproductive “also-rans”.

Either they cannot create viable offspring, or they can only produce defective or unhealthy offspring, or they are physically or psychologically unable to raise children.

However, like people who can reproduce and raise children, they are compelled to want to do so, for the most part. And this is a major problem.

People who should reproduce, biologically, have a hard enough time in finding a compatible mate, optimal for raising children. If there are lots of people who should not reproduce, but want to try anyway, they “get in the way.”

Enter the slut. In this case, there is a likelihood that to start with, the slut is someone who should not themselves reproduce. However, they can serve a greater biological purpose by enticing *others* who should not reproduce, *away* from those who should reproduce.

But this creates another problem. The slut needs to lure one group, but *not* lure the other group.

Enter the idea of “sexual morality”. Optimally, those that reproduce should be in a monogamous relationship with their partner. Humans have even innovated the idea of socially enforced marriage to help insure that breeding couples stay together and raise their children.

Thus, people who should reproduce should *also* be moral enough, so they do not attempt to reproduce with those who shouldn’t.

Breeders should not want to have sex with sluts.

Conversely, those who should *not* reproduce should hook up with the slut. At least enough to keep them out of the way. And the slut needs to be slutty enough to divert several of these individuals away from the breeding pair. Which is perhaps why we have prostitution.

And there’s yet one more twist. Females who have been through menopause can no longer reproduce. But it has been noted that many such women suddenly enjoy sex more. This may push them to become sluts themselves, augmenting the ranks of younger sluts.

Formerly a breeder, now a slut.

So, adding it all up, to help the human species to make and raise the best offspring, we end up with: sluts, sexual morality, prostitution, marriage, cougars, and monogamy.
