Patrick Murphy-linked Absentee Voter Controversy Unfolds
National Review Online ^ | 10/27/2010 | Thomas Shakely

Earlier today, Battle ‘10 reported on the continuing absentee ballot scandal in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, home to the 8th district congressional race. The race is widely seen as a bellwether, with Rep. Patrick Murphy a member of the appropriations committee.

New reports are emerging that could spell trouble for Patrick Murphy’s campaign after it was revealed that his campaign manager controlled a post office box where voters were being instructed to send their absentee ballots. The ballots were then re-mailed to the county Board of Elections.

A letter from a fictitious agency, the “Pennsylvania Voter Assistance Office,” was sent to an unknown number of residents across the 8th district in southeastern Pennsylvania warning them that their ability to voter could be jeopardized unless they returned an enclosed absentee ballot in a pre-paid envelope that went to a private post office box in Bristol, Pa.

At issue is whether Rep. Patrick Murphy was directly involved, and whether absentee ballots were tampered with or discarded as they were proceeded through the post office box maintained by Tim Persico, his campaign manager.

Patrick Murphy is a scumbag and a coward.

Check out the link below to see video footage of how he tried to duck his constituents and Republican opponent Mike Fitzpatrick during a town hall meeting this past spring.

By the way, didn’t an identical incident like this happen just last week in another state?

So the champion of homosexualizing the military is also sodomizing the voting process: no surprise here.

The question is whether this story was picked up by Philly local news. If so, it’s over for Murphy. If anyone has any knowledge of local coverage, please advise. Thx

Local talk radio host Dom Giordano was on this tonight, and had Fitzpatrick on with him. I didn’t hear much of it, but I gather there’s a hearing in Bucks County court (I think) on Friday. It should be covered in the Courier Times tomorrow. This isn’t going away.

Is this getting any play in the district?

This is huge. I often am not one to latch onto every voting irregularity etc.....normally there are innocent explanations.

But, this is NOT one of those times.

This is stunning in the daring. The campaign manager is in charge of the box for crying out loud.

This sounds like a felony to me.

I think that we could go three-for-three against Democrat usurpers named Murphy this year:

Patrick Murphy (PA-08, 48% for Bush in 2004), won seat from Republican Patrick Fitzgerald in 2006. Patrick Fitzgerald is poised to take back the seat on Tuesday.

Chris Murphy (CT-05, 49% for Bush in 2004), won seat from Republican Nancy Johnson in 2006. Sam Caligiuri has a good chance of taking back the seat on Tuesday

Scott Murphy (NY-20, 54% for Bush in 2004), won open seat in 2009 special election replacing Kirsten Gillibrand, who won the seat from Republican John Sweeney in 2006. Chris Gibson is poised to take back the seat on Tuesday.

The stunt appears identical to what's been uncovered in Illinois.

In other words, the stratagem isn't localized. Instead, it's probably part of a national scheme.

Question: How are Democrat operatives getting access to the absentee ballots to send out in the first place?

I was wondering the same thing. The case in IL involved applications for absentee ballots being sent to a third party - not the ballots themselves.

But the reports about the PA-08 fraud claims that the ballots themselves were mailed out and returned to the P.O. Box set up by Murphy's campaign manager.

Actual ballots can only be sent out by the Board of Elections. Whatever Murphy's campaign manager was sending out were fakes or else if the Board of Elections is involved somehow, this has the possibility of going nuclear in PA.

Wouldn’t do any good at this point as the absentee votes need to be delivered to the county board of elections by Friday.

What I don’t get is how dumb these people are who signed the applications.

Actually, I do get it. It’s called public education.

Hope so. It annoys the hell out of me to have 3 rats in there all named Murphy.

Chris Van Hollen: “Hey did you hear? We lost Murphy.”

Steny Hoyer: “Which one?”

Chris Van Hollen: “All of them.”

Tim Murphy R-PA: “I’m still here!!”
