In his latest bid to make a joke of the Presidency, Barack Obama appeared Wednesday night on Comedy Central's "Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
From the "Upshot" Blog:
"Are you disappointed in how it's gone?" Stewart asked.
Obama replied that the situation is no surprise given the country's high unemployment, underwater mortgages, and an overall poor economy. "Folks are going to be frustrated, and that's going to reflect on the political environment," Obama said. Obama said that in context, he's "feeling great about where the American people are, considering what we've gone through."
"We've gone through the two toughest years since The Great Depression."
So, to translate that out of Obama-speak into normal English: "Folks have lost their jobs, they're losing their homes, and the prospects for anything better are dim. And I feel great about that."
What a guy! And he wonders why he and the crypto-Marxist political party he leads are on the verge of what could be the worst mid-term election losses any party has experienced in more than a hundred years?
Socialism has consequences, as Barack Obama is proving yet again. And it isn't funny.
I wonder if he believes his own BS.
Yes, it has been a difficult time...thanks to him and congress.
It’s still Bush’s fault.
These people are such children.
Meanhwile next weekend after the election he is off to India and his staff has booked all 570 rooms at the 5-star Taj Mahal hotel.
When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping
Baraq - the human vuvuzela
(I can’t take credit for that great term, I borrowed it from another FReeper)
What a whiny embarrassment this guy is. Yeah, George Bush just slid through those first years of his administration...
42 million Americans on food stamps and Obama is happy.
Isn’t that special?
He is just such a complete AO.
I’m thinking Baraq and MooseChelle realize the party may be over Jan 2012 and are going to use every opportunity the next 26 months to milk the taxpayers.

President Barack Obama looks at his watch as he walks with, from second from right, senior adviser David Axelrod, press secretary Robert Gibbs, and aide Reggie Love as they return to the White House in Washington, Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, after a taping of Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
*WE* have been living high on the hog - travelling all over the world, best hotels, finest food & wine, being pampered by well paid staff and playing golf.
Other than that, I am being treated like a dog.
What do you expect from a part time (affirmative action) student, part time college instructor, part time lawyer, part time state and federal legislator. What did people voting for him expect, that somehow he was going to transform himself into a nose to the grindstone, roll up and the sleeves and govern the people the way that they expect to be governed. A butt kicking of historic proportions is coming next Tuesday - these elitists will only get nastier after the elections.
Yes, and that World War II thingy was a walk in the park compared to the trials that our beloved POTUS and FLOTUS (may peace be upon them) had to endure to find a decent arugula salad on Martha's Vineyard.
I think he does. He is in denial about being in over his head, and as far as he is concerned, it is the responsibility of those he's "hired" to make the right things happen, including making him look good.
He's full of himself.
No. Like all liars, down deep he knows full well he's lying.
Of course, if he had any clue about the Great Depression, he’d know that the last two years was nothing like it.
He could at least have familiarized himself with the Waltons, to understand hollywood’s sanitized version of what hard-working americans look like when faced with tough times.
I like to tell liberals — imagine the Waltons show if instead of them working hard to make ends meet, and coming together as a community, the whole show was about the kids sitting around watching TV, the mother whined about not getting enough food stamps, while the father sat around collecting unemployment checks and complaining that his benefits were running out and it was taking too long for the government to give him free health care.
Don’t you wonder what “Reggie” adds to this group?
Reggie definitely riding in the back...
All that Golf, bowing to foreigners, apologizing for stuff we had to do, and vacations must wear a guy out, getting waited on hand and foot in the White House, skipping church almost every Sunday. Whew, Tiring. So hard to keep it up. Lucky for him he has less than 2 years left and we will give him a break by tossing him out of office. Sooner if he gets some more Chicago style politics stuck to him.
I see “O” finally found someone to delegate ‘umbrella duty’ to!!
