Morgan Freeman narrates Lawson ad [NC-04]
Raleigh News & Observer ^ | Nov. 1, 2010 | Rob Christensen

Posted on 11/01/2010 10:00:08 AM PDT by MitchellC

Actor Morgan Freeman is the voice that narrates GOP congressional candidate B.J. Lawson's latest TV and radio ads.

It is Freeman who says: “What is David Price afraid of?” He was referring to the Democratic congressman.

Lawson said he was inspired by Freeman explaining the importance of the founding documents in his narration of a video about the Declaration of Independence.

“Barbara Streisand wouldn't do this, but Morgan Freeman doesn't have a problem cutting ads against Washington insiders or he wouldn't do it,” said Martin Avila, Lawson's campaign manager.

Morgan Freeman is certainly a big liberal and I’m sure he was paid well for doing this. He does have a great and distinctive voice though and the ad will probably help Lawson’s campaign.

I see. Everybody is a Washington Insider.

Say, is it true that Mr. Freeman is going to wed his step granddaughter?

If true, that really creeps me out.

Freeman has always been one of my favorite actors and his voice is extremely pleasant (for lack of a better word) to listen to. He’s ‘narrated’ a couple of his movies such as Shaw Shank Redemption and The Bucket List. I bet the ad will be a good one.

I’m impressed that he would agree to do this.

If I ever run for President, I am going to have Angelina Jolie do the voice over for my ads. ;)

I always thought Angie's voice was common sounding.

I always thought John Facenda had the best broadcasting voice of all time.

I’m still waiting to buy a Morgan Freeman talking GPS.

“Go down the road, just past Ms. Burke’s house, you know, the small white house with so many petunias and azaleas springin’ up like fire from the hearth. Then you take a left towards the old oak tree than Bing and Joe use to swing from ‘til Bing got drafted and shipped to Vietnam and Joe got married. Then proceed 2 miles to the Kroger’s, and don’t forget to greet Donna if she’s smoking a cigarette outside.”

One of ‘The Best’ narration jobs that Morgan Freeman has ever done was a National Geographic documentary called, “March Of The Penguins”.

(I Think that was it National Geographic who did it)

My initial reaction to this was to think that here, in Morgan Freeman, at least one black actor has left the Hollywood plantation and is thinking for himself. I’m hoping that not all black actors are commie libs like Danny Glover, et al, running down to Venezuela to hug Chavez.

I hope Freeman did this for patriotic reasons, and NOT just for the money. As successful as he’s been at his craft, I cannot imagine him needing money that bad that he would sell his voice for a cause he dislikes.

Also, isn’t FREEMAN a great name for someone who’s left the plantation and is living his own life?!

Whatever Morgan Freeman’s political or ideological leanings may be, he has always been a gentleman. I have no problem with him at all.

Whoa!!!! Please put a curtain over an image like THAT, and give the viewer the option of choosing whether to open the curtain, and a chance to squint his eyes and steel himself BEFORE he does!!! Whew!! Dang near lost my lunch!!
