Goood. It should have happened years ago. The beating Edwards is taking tonight indicates the district was just waiting for a good Republican to win. I presume this new guy is pro-life, pro-defense, no?

Yes, he is a ‘D’ and it is very annoying that people are not listing the Party with the person!

Chet is a 20 year Democratic incumbent who has had a lock on this Central Texas district. He was mentioned as a potential Obama VP running mate. He does whatever Nancy says. Nobody has been able to defeat him until tonight. This is a good thing!

He should have switched parties when he had the chance. He’ll never win that district back now.

Is Chet Edwards a trial lawyer?

is that good or bad?

It's good news for the 17th district here in Texas. It's an area covering a lot of territory from way down south at Texas A&M to the suburbs of Ft. Worth.

Flores, a businessman and a former member of the Aggies' famed Corps of Cadets, the Republican challenger unseated a longtime Democrat incumbent.

If memory serves me correctly, Bill Flores is a FReeper.

Chet was a “good” Democrat, from Texas A&M. He was in my Mom & Dad’s district in Central Texas.

But if he’s getting the boot, the Democrats in Congress are going to experience a bloodbath. =)

11th_VA, you could not be more WRONG. He votes 90% plus with RATS. He is a liberal suck-up who was on the short list fo Obama’s VP, and he is a master of fake votes, and gets permission from his rat masters to vote conservative when needed to make a fake vote to get re-elected. And now he is GONE. You need to do a better job analyzing votes.

And he was one of the many Democrats endorsed by the NRA. I was a NRA member but screw um.

I haven’t looked at his voting record lately, I must confess, but he has been a conservative voter ... maybe he’s changed

there is no such thing as a conservative Democrat. Chet was a Pelosi lapdog when it mattered, he only acted Conservative to get elected and on votes that didn’t matter

WRONG. There is no such thing as a good Democrat. And among them he voted just as communist as all of them, except he was a master of occasional strategic conservative votes, usually when it would not make any difference, only when he got permission from his handlers, and that makes jhim as dangerous as any Democrat.

That is why he was on the short list as Obama’s VP.

That is why he could even fool you.

We lived at Ft. Hood in 99-2001. Couldn’t believe they had a DEMOCRAT representing them! I believe the district also includes Crawford, does it not?

This is a very good thing. Bill Flores is a good guy and a conservative Republican. Eat it, Chet.

I have a source VERY close to Edwards. They pretty well resigned themselves that they were going to lose a LONG time ago. If it stays at sixty something to thirty something, I will be surprised at the margin. I was thinking 55-45.

His votes were even worse all through the 1990’s. I tracked it vote by vote in pre-functional-internet days when it was a lot harder to track. He got a little better when the lights were turned on. But he was NOT a conservative voter. He thought it was the maim job of Congressmen to be available to help people “get their disability” if they called his office...
