Ken Buck was said to be the only GOP candidate who could lose this race, which would have been a GOP blowout with Norton on the ticket. Looks like that prediction was prophetic.
Maybe he'll blame those stupid Tea Partiers and Sarah Palin and those retarded Birthers........again........

It’s a dirty business, politics, there is so much corruption on the left that they steal elections from SEASONED republicans. AND STILL THESE RACES ARE CLOSE.

Exactly right! I don't get the doom and gloomers on this thread. I didn't set myself up with the expectation that we'd win it all. Conservatives made huge gains yesterday. I'm optimistic this morning!

I agree. Buck’s poll numbers withered under the constant Dem attacks and he gave them plenty of ammunition with numerous self-inflicted gaffes. The Dems also got a big boost out of the governor’s race, where the GOP was split and the Dem candidate won easily. The GOP performed well in the House races in winning back two seats, although many had hoped Perlmutter would also lose.
If Bennet does win a squeaker, I’ll be disappointed but not surprised. Both parties had contested primaries and this could have went either way by the narrowest of margins.

You're absolutely right. I too was thinking I'd stick here for the rest of my career and maybe retire here. Not now, not if my neighbors keep pushing idiotic policies that are going to ruin Colorado as a place to live. My company has facilities in Texas, maybe I'll just take my six figure salary and tax base and move...

That means we lost almost every close race, and for a second straight election, we actually underperformed polling. And this is in a tidal wave GOP year.
Yes, it was disappointing. We had a shot at 10-12 Senate seats, and are coming away with six - this despite the fact that candidates like Reid and Bennett were toast, I mean absolutely finished. Most of those fringe House seats will trend back to Democrat after one election.
No more. I am done with the 100% purity tests.
Same with WA State. I don’t think it was ever a red, red state like Texas; but, the Seattle area and I-5 corridor, has become bluer over the years due to all of the infiltration by Kalifornians. Eastern WA (a lot for agriculture) is still primarily red.
I think the lesson everyone should learn is NEVER give the Dummies a target.
With the help of the national msm and their little slimes in states they intentionally picked out candidates with real or preceived weaknesses and blew them up to National preportions.
Now that the TPN and Indies have been throught the process.

Two points...why is this "experience" thing only meaningful for non-independently wealthy Republicans? Secondly, wasn't part of the point of the tea party movement to remove the entrenched politicians who've screwed up our nation's finances? It's nice to believe that we have a large pool of overlooked but responsible politicians who can be raised to the Senate but we have to take what can be gotten from the clay that is the non-political class. I do understand your point of not having a professional campaign staff but at the same time, it's chilling to look at the viciousness of entrenched power. Hopeful some people are looking.
Yes! In 1930, the incumbent party (Rs) lost 52 House seats and 8 Senate seats. Both chambers were effectively tied for the next 2 years. This is the same, or better. Nothing -- nothing really awful -- can pass through Congress for at least 2 years.

The DNC then came in with a massive ad campaign for Bennett and the GOP never replenished the money or provided much in the way of any support. Even when the polls (all the polls) showing the lead slipping away.
Win or lose, the fact that it was close sits squarely on the shoulders of the GOP leadership (especially the Nat’l Republican Senatorial Committee).
You don't have to look too far or read very much to see who screwed this one up. Again.
Without grass roots support he would have lost double digits.

Co. used to be a Conservative state. It is now infested(good word) with LA Lefties. My town is filled with libs who came to Co. cuz they like it better here than Ca: ski bums, mountain women and bearded professorial looking men.

I regret my support of Buck in the primary. Norton turned me off by her attack ads against Ken Buck. I think that she would have won either as senator or governor. It is a sad day for Colorado conservatives.
It didn’t help that the tea party pushed a candidate for governor who turned out to be a total loser, and then abandoned him for a 3rd-party Tancredo.
It’s unfortunate there were no good governor candidates in the republican primary, but a strong governor candidate would have certainly helped Buck.
But Buck, Angle, and frankly Joe Miller were all pretty bad candidates, who won primaries and then let the race slip away from them (As was O’Donnell).
The lesson isn’t really to pick lesser conservatives, but to run BETTER CANDIDATES who are conservatives.
Still, there will be a lot of seats we look back at that were left on the table. My guess is my own house race would have gone Republican if we had picked the 90% guy instead of the 100% guy.
But I’m not ready to say that is
