During the campaign, Col. Allen West speculated on the possibility of joining the Congressional Black Caucus. "I think I have every right to. I would be in Congress, and I would be black and so I should be able to sit with them and, again, bring a different perspective," he said in an interview with the Daily Caller.
Congressman-elect West will get that chance now that the Sarah Palin-backed Afghan War veteran has emerged victorious in Florida's 22nd Congressional District, ousting two-term Democratic incumbent Ron Klein.
"Now, I really presume that the CBC will just change their name to preclude me from joining it," he said. "But that's OK; I'll start my own caucus."
The Congressional Black Caucus is a living stereotype perpetuating the myth that being black and being Democrat are synonymous and that the GOP is the party of angry white males.
The Republican Party has shown that it can broaden its base and that blacks and other minorities have options. They've been taken for granted by the Democrats, but that will change.

West is awesome but good luck on joining the wacist CBC. They wouldn’t let JC Watts join because he wasn’t the right type of black american. West and Scott should show the CBC that the CBC it is unamerican and in a color blind society refuse to lower themselves to the CBC’s level. It would be hard for me to fathom a military veteran like West wanting to associate with a group that worships communists and dictators like the CBC does.

I just saw Rachael Maddow on MSNBC ridiculing Allen West. She then ridiculed every Republican who won office. This creature is incredible.
I try to watch MSNBC and CNN in order to see what they are saying about issues and events. That is not easy to do and I can only watch them for brief periods.
Tonight Maddow has come unhinged. This election has caused leftist all over America to come unhinged. Here in the Bitterroot we wiped out the Democratic Party that has controlled politics here for years.
Out of fourteen races we won fourteen by wide margins. They got the results by 9 PM last night. They have not uttered one word about what has happened.
We tied these Democrats to Obama, which in fact they are supportive of. That was enough. I have heard about the gift that keeps on giving. That is Barack Obama.
Now the idiot is going on a junket to India and Indonesia. He plans to visit a Mosque there on a Muslim holiday. I have heard the trip will cost a billion dollars. I think the man has lost his mind.
I guess the strain of the job is just too much for him. After all, he is probably the least qualified person in history to occupy the Oval Office.
Yep. Conservatives have no issue with skin color. In past it's the liberals who get in the way and I include white Liberal Republicans in that who keep choosing old white liberal establishment Republicans over conservative minorities.
It's about idealogy for me, not color or sex. Happy to see conservatives engaging more to outnumber those people, pull the primary win and get them elected in the general. I'm still sad Hermain Cain wasn't chosen in his primary a few years ago.

I heard West on Savage's show yesterday. He's tremendously impressive. He won in a district that's 93% non-black.
