The Greenies are ready to file suit against Prop 26 due to its being in conflict with Prop 25. Which, BTW I don't agree with. The purpose of Prop 26 was to require a 2/3 majority to raise fees and levies, which is already a requirement for taxes. AB 32 has a lot of fees associated with its implementation.

Californians (except for the conservative kind) do not realize the freight train ahead. The green energy fraud has mostly been a free lunch so far. The real costs are just beginning. The taxes and regulations to chase this Utopian dream will cause wide spread job losses. Other states will be very aggressive in recruitting California employers.

The good news is that the target CO2 emissions should be easy to achieve. The flight of businesses and production will lead much less energy used at least from businesses. The left should be proud of its effort to deindustrialize California.

Prop 25 reads that all CA law and Constitution is "Not Withstanding", therefore it is superior to everything. Any tax or fee may be imposed or raised by simply writing it into the budget bill, and passing the budget.

The only possible impediment would be if Prop 26 passed with a higher numerical popular vote, then a judge MAY rule 26 superior to 25, requiring a 2/3 popular vote on raising taxes outside the budget bill.

However, if the tax was inside the budget bill, the judge might not have the authority to order the budget to the ballot.

Lastly, how many constructionist judges do we have in the People's Republic of California?

In life you sometimes have to step aside and let a hard headed person make the mistake. Otherwise you are wasting energy and time. Let CA experiment with the green economy and uncontrolled spending. Like NJ and MI their people will sooner or later realize that tax and spending into debt will not work. This election cycle two blue states just went red, NJ and MI. NY, CA and MA have serious deficits, but it has not gotten bad enough for the majority to change to GOP. Give them time, and the GOP in Congress should not bail them out when the SHTF for those states.

The Green Jobs are disappearing already. Solyndra, the solar panel plant visited by Obama a few months ago, just shut down one of their local factories, will not issue their I.P.O. and will not hire all the workers they promised when Obama was here.They talked of hiring up to 3,000.

There's a small problem with dependance upon the two-thirds requirement: Dems are only a couple seats from having those kinds of super majorities.

They have 52 of 80 seats, or 65%, in the legislature.

There's an open seat in the State Senate (probably the dead woman just elected) which will give them 25 of 40 seats there, 63%.

The whole clean air and global warming issue always goes down to the common focus. How can someone make big bucks, regardless of who will get screwed and what way.
In this case the greenies outspent the terrible big oil companies three fold.

E. Have a great upcoming day. Tomorrow Lord willing I shall get the chance to meet with a fine bunch of Boy Scouts, Explorers, and Sea Explorers from my old troop and Ship. Troop and Ship 314 out of Philadelphia since the thirties.
Thirty through forty years since I have seen many of them.
Hopefully many at this social shall be of the conservative end of the spectrum this late in life.
This gang was special to me. We had a forty five foot World War Two vintage Naval picket boat.
In fact. It was commissioned in 1944 in I believe Long Beach, Calf.. With two large gas, later converted Grey Marine Diesels (671's), twenty four inch props... a huge drum and bugle corps. which I had lead for a few years before starting into my work career, a Indian club. We could muster between sixty and eighty people on Memorial Day Parades etc., to participate in parades, with our Drum and Bugle Corps., followed by three across rank after rank of scouts and explorers.
At summer camps (Treasure Island... the home of the Order of the Arrow society....think back to 1913 range), we totally dominated the week. Each night before mess call, passing assembly on a large parade ground.
We would march onto the parade ground, playing songs like SEMPER FI, other long standing marches, big band sounds of the forties etc.. I had the honor a few years of providing the morning call and evening call colors as I smartly stood in front of the Corps. playing these calls as our glorious American flag was slowly lowered and properly folded, sort of brings a tear to my eyes.
At other ceremonies being key bugler playing taps in honor of all our fallen military through so many wars to protect and uphold the Constitution and way of life of America.
So many fine memories... early on, instilling in me. honor, honesty, commitment, and respect, it helped mold me.
To this day I consider many I will hopefully meet tomorrow as my best friends.
So I may not be around this site to respond to your as usual good posts.
Hope I can stay party sober. It will be like a coming home party for me.
Sort of the likes of a band of brothers.

Much of the "industry" you are thinking about has already left. Unless there is some sort of welfare system for power, this one may chase out the riffraff too, a common liberal tactic employed in wealthy counties such as Marin.

BTW, 20% of the power used in California is for moving and treating water. A lot of that is not going away under any circumstances.
