On the positive side, Kirk has said no DREAM Act, no comprehensive immigration reform until the borders are secure.

Reid will be pushing this in the lame duck session, and is close to having enough votes to pass this.
Pryor is the only Dem not on board.
With Kirk seated, Reid may be stopped.
Manchin is also a wild card on this issue.

Courting Manchin is crazy (nevermind looking at the guy he appointed to the Senate vacancy, a hard-line left-winger). He could be facing a criminal indictment in short order, and that’s all we need is to have him switch parties and then be convicted. I hope that this means that Kirk will vote for that ridiculous, unconstitutional bill next year (when it wouldn’t have a prayer of passing), not during the lame-duck session (Kirk promised that he would be a firm NO vote on anything controversial during the lame-duck session).
