Interior Inspector General: White House skewed drilling-ban report
Politico ^ | Novembe 9, 2010 | Dan Berman

The White House rewrote crucial sections of an Interior Department report to suggest an independent group of scientists and engineers supported a six-month ban on offshore oil drilling, the Interior inspector general says in a new report.

In the wee hours of the morning of May 27, a staff member to White House energy adviser Carol Browner sent two edited versions of the department report’s executive summary back to Interior. The language had been changed to insinuate the seven-member panel of outside experts – who reviewed a draft of various safety recommendations – endorsed the moratorium, according to the IG report obtained by POLITICO.

Something we always knew...Regardless, there was absolutely no reason to shut down drilling.

Black said he didn’t have any issues with the White House edit; he and his staffer both told the IG it never occurred to them that an objective reader would conclude that peer reviewers had supported the six-month moratorium.

Which is a bald-faced lie--the whole point of the edits was the give that very impression.

Reminds me of when Clinton’s WH team rewrote reports to show there was nothing to see at Los Alamos.

The ONLY subject this White House is “expert” on is “Rules for Radicals”.

Yes, the “one who cannot be named”, after the one with “no papers”.

This has been out a while, but have seen 2 other related articles in past 2 days

“Obama In Deep Trouble, Huge Scandals Brewing”

We are soon going to be in a position to uncover some real juicy stuff. Where does this go, we shall soon see.

112th Congress will be installed in January. Will it be a cold day or the beginning of a hot time?

If it’s her, I wouldn’t trust her. She’s a viper, cares only about getting power, and will do anything to do so. While it’s nice to see them eating their own, the only reason she would do this is to gain ascendancy in the future. America has had enough of her already.

What Issa and Inhofe and every other congress person should take a good long look at is:

Who is signing Carol Browner’s paycheck?
Where does the money come from?
Who is paying for her “staff”?
Who is ON her “staff”?
Why is she making decisions for the Energy department when she has not been approved by congress?

In other words, get rid of ALL of the czars and that goes for Republicans as well as Democrats.

Carol Browner is a Commie B*tch. I’m sorry the DC Chapter was called off from picketting her house.
