Exclusive First Look: Sarah Palin's Alaska
Townhall ^ | November 13, 2010 | Katie Pavlich, Assistant Editor

Posted on 11/13/2010 10:36:08 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

When we think of reality show, we think trashy housewives and serial dating, but this is not your typical reality show. Instead, Sarah Palin's Alaska is a unique look into faith, family, love, strong American values and the natural beauty Alaska has to offer.

“It really goes into the life of Sarah Palin not the politics of it,” Roxy Stahl from Motive Entertainment tells Townhall, adding that the show is designed to be a documentary rather than a reality series, showcasing the great outdoors.

During the course of the series, viewers will get to know Todd Palin’s grandmother Lena, an Alaska Eskimo who has passed on native traditions, such as harvesting salmon, to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Quite an impressive family history.

“TLC is interested in creating more family friendly shows and more shows on the inspirational side,” Stahl says.

In the premiere episode, members of the Palin family are seen fishing in bear country and scaling a snowy mountain pass in Alaska’s famous Denali National Park.

Overall, this is an opportunity for viewers to see Sarah Palin for who she really is personally, as a wife, mother and career woman, without the media spin machine distorting her image or the distraction of being surrounded by political hoopla.

I'm betting this will drive many leftists over the edge, while getting many Independents, PUMAs, Conservatives and Reagan Democrats to take a fresh look at Governor Palin.

I am SO excited to see this show. This show is going to surprise a lot of people. The ones who think this is a reality show are going to be very surprised to find out that all of the media BS was just that, BS

Oh, and the reason why leftists don’t want people to see this show is for the reason you just outlined, that this will help her with independents and Reagan Democrats

I’m also a Palin skeptic who is interested in this show to get a better picture of where she is coming from.

This such a good break for conservatives, we used to get so few beneficial penetrations of the popular culture, this 8 part series on Alaska will probably do very well, and will get some DVD sales, even public libraries will purchase a set like this, especially if we all ask for it.

My family .... and many in my circle of friends (lib and conservatives alike) are waiting for this show.

WE WANT TO SEE ALASKA INSIDE OUR LIVING ROOM.

[My moderate friends are beginning to really like her, after her recent “fight against the Fed”.

Good luck, Mrs. Palin!

The environazis hate hate hate Discovery/TLC for all these shows that promote large families and babies. The fact that Palin has 5 kids is enough to drive the ZPG’ers crazy.

I must be the only person on FR who is disturbed by all of the talk of wholsome Alaska lifestyle that involves underage sex, illigitimate birth, and drug dealing inlaws. Americans love their myths.

I have only been on an Alaskan cruise and absolutely LOVED it! Some of the cruises have a side trip to Denali but mine was just an Inside Passage cruise. I would love to go again or rent a place up there in the summer for a week or two. It is gorgeous! I have her show set for a series recording.

From what I’ve seen and read about this show, it is going to be a political gold mine for Sarah Palin. If she does well in the debates, say hello to the 45th President of the United States. No one is going to beat this with all the MSM and money in the world.

Sarah Palin doesn’t have a daughter who is pro-abortion and posed nude for Playboy unlike say...Ronald Reagan’s daughter.
Michael Reagan was probably the only conservative in the family and he was adopted.

Yes it seems so if that is what you think the show is about.
Just give it a watch you might see her and her family in a different light. Afterall she and her family are only human
therefore they are not imune to the pitfalls of life but they dust themselves off and keep going. I for one like her family from what I have seen and they seem like real people

We live along the upper Yukon where it comes in from Canada. Shoot caribou when they come through, set nets when salmon show up, had a dog team for a dozen years, and deal with super high prices for everything flown in when Sams in Fairbanks is 12 hour drive & couple flats away; and the road has been closed all year. You’d think I wouldn’t even bother watching, but I wouldn’t miss it on dir tv; she was the best Gov I ever seen up here and sure wish we had her back; no joke either.
