In December 2009, there was a thread here on Free Republic outlining the fact that Coca-Cola had released "holiday" packaging that said "Feliz Navidad" in Spanish, but "Holiday 2009" in English. Some were outraged because it appeared that Christmas was okay to acknowledge in Spanish, but not in English. It seems that Coke has learned their lesson and for their 2010 packaging, they use the English greeting "Merry Christmas".

That’s odd. Just finished a can with the words “Holiday 2010”.
Congratulations!
Thanks!
maybe that is why Odumbo has to leave the country so much again. he is offended that Coke has said Merry Christmas. Coca Cola refused to advertise muslim Holdays on the containers when requested by Odumbo.Than when he asked Coca Cola to advertise for him this year as he is the real thing Coca Cola responded when you can walk on water and solve all the worlds problems than and only than would Coca Cola advertise barack Hussein Obama - He’s the Real Thing. Right now Coca Cola thinks of Odumbo as the Thing from DC. And any connection with odumbo will be a toxic asset for Coca Cola. Odumbo is also approaching other manufaturers, Pepsi, 7Up, Kebblers, Kraft, Nabisco and so on so forth but he is getting the same response - You are a toxic asset and you need to go elsewhere to repair your image. he has not lerned yet, when you go around bashing the USA, this is not good business sense in the corporate world.
Cool. I prefer Coke products anyway.
Office Max had up Happy Holiday signs on the door when I went last Fri.
That makes for a very, merry Christmas!
meanwhile Pepsi cans are still bearing a worn out Obama Hope n Change symbol
Time to stock up on Coca-Cola again...
Yesterday, while shopping, I saw round, ornament shaped bottles of Coke for sale for $1 each. There was advertising on the bin for Sprite and a 3rd flavor, but only the Coke was available in the bin. Guess they are after the Christmas shoppers this year. I can’t remember if they had Christmas on the bottle, but one had a Coke polar bear on it and another had Santa on it. They were cute to look at, but I didn’t purchase any.
Right after April 15th would be better....
I don’t know that stores ever really cared about being boycotted by people who wanted to hear “Merry Christmas”; I think that now ALL businesses know that they are fighting for a shrinking supply of discretionary dollars from consumers, and the bad PR from ignoring Christmas doesn’t help.
“Right after April 15th would be better....”
yeah but I don’t want a really long lame duck session
Good point; maybe December 31st...
Thanks for posting this-i noticed it as well. It seems that the “Holiday” is still on the cans but the cases - GASP!- actually do have the words Christmas on them!
