More than 30 Republican governors and governors-elect will meet in San Diego, California, Wednesday and Thursday to discuss issues confronting their states. The officials will address economic concerns, and highlight the personalities who are likely to play a role in national politics.

In the November 2 election, Republicans gained control of the House of Representatives, the lower house of Congress. They also made dramatic gains in state legislative races, and took governorships from Democrats in a number of key states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan.

Why do these idiots accommodate the coasts and always seem to meet in California, New York, or Mass.? Meet in Kansas City, Birmingham, Cincinnati, some place that still has a degree of reality in the air rather than pure fascist fantasy everywhere.

The first order of business should be to replace the idiot who decided they should meet in California.

Well, they chose a beautiful week weather-wise. Do you think there is any way we could sneak in for a listen?

You should be able to. I have no idea really. I’m up here in L.A. and it’s one beautiful day after another here, too.

Besides, I think the home port of the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan is the perfect location for the Republican Governors Association to meet.

I think they should all meet in Tucson, Arizona or El Paso, Texas.

Yes, perfect. I can’t find any info on where it’s being held. I guess it’s a secret.

The only state in which Republicans should be meeting is Oklahoma. It was the only state in which every county voted Republican in the 2008 election.
This state should also be the first Republican primary in the next presidential election.

I once had someone throw a bag of chit at me at the San Diego airport. I wish the pretty blond girl who threw it had felt me up, it had been a long time between fiskings.

Regards

Of all places to meet....Kalifornia? Home of Gov. Moonbeam?

It is a beautiful state. It attracted too many Democrats and illegal immigrants. People were seduced and fell into darkness. Elections have consequences. Let Brown pass budgets and raise taxes to his heart's delight.

“Is Perry not a rino?”

A rino when compared to what?

Compared to some of our worst, most infamous rinos such as are in the US Senate? He comes off looking pretty conservative next to them.

Compared to the conservative ideal right down the line on every single issue? He’s got some sizable chinks in the armour.

He’s a politician. Generally center right but with vulnerabilities on particular issues. What I like about Perry is his willingness to state that the Feds have overreached, and that they have also worsened problems by not properly doing their jobs. He does not run around spouting how we have to negotiate and compromise with the power that is ruining us. He will call a spade a spade in the ongoing battle between the states and the Feds. He will fight them (in his way). In that, I don’t see a true rino.

His deficiencies on certain issues over the years is legendary. But Kay Hutchinson nor especially Bill White offered any alternative to Perry, in my opinion. And I don’t throw away my vote on libertarians, either.
