Senator Rockefeller: Eliminating MSNBC, Fox News ‘Would Be a Big Favor to Political Discourse’ By Alex Weprin on November 17, 2010 6:09 PM

In a U.S. Senate hearing about the retransmission consent laws, Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) said that getting the FCC to step in and take some sort of action against Fox News Channel and MSNBC “would be a big favor to political discourse; to our ability to do our work here in Congress; and to the American people, to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government and, more importantly, in their future.”

As the New York Times notes in its coverage, the FCC does not have the authority to regulate those networks, as they are distributed via cable, and not over the broadcast airwaves.

And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling reporters.

Damned 1st Amendment.

And, while your at it Senator, why not reincarnate the ghosts to Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, and David Brinkley?

Don’t laugh. That SOB is serious as a heart attack. And he’s just saying out loud what a big chunk of the ‘ruling class’ believes in their heart.

It was all so much better to them when the only news was that put out by the ‘official’ networks.

"to our ability to do our work here in Congress"

Rockefeller doesn't like his actions watched and scrutinized.

Yeah, stifle political discourse so people can have “some faith in their government”. What a tool.

Eliminating Rockefeller from the senate would be a HUGE boost to our American Republic.

Let's see--their side has 7 channels and our side has one. To be fair, we'll subtract one channel from each side. Makes perfect sense.

(I'm counting ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, CNN, Headline News, and MSNBC, as "their" channels.)

Rockefeller? Is that jerk still around? Hmm. I’ll bet if he weren’t we’d never miss him. Perhaps he should eliminate himself.

So true. The ‘Big 3’ networks and the major newspapers were nothing but a propaganda arm of liberals and government in general.

When cable news became diverse, along with the existence of the Internet, the bastards can no longer hide from us so easily. This is a great thing!

“Diversity Czar” at the Federal Communications Commission—Mark Lloyd “has called for “white people” to be removed from powerful positions in the media to make way for minorities like “people of color” and gays. Further showing how far out of the mainstream his views are, he has also made favorable public comments about the virulently anti-American Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez.”

(I’ll bet he and Rockefeller are best buddies.)

Sen Rockefeller, owner and slave master of West Virgina, wishes to limit information available to his minions and the rest of the nation.

Master Rockefeller thinks the rest of the country should be ruled by like minded individuals such as himself. His children have the god given right to become next Senator from WV because the lord understands that royal families have the correct blood type.

They take their cut from the Federal Reserve all the while dooming our children to life long usury.

The Rockefeller's are the epitome of crony capitalism. What a f**king tool. The Rockefeller's are bankster thieves who contribute nothing to our society.

"... to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government..."

Typical Ruling Class potentate. Unwashed masses, middle class wage serfs and downtrodden people of America -- put your faith in government, Democrat Party controlled government. Kneel before Obama, venerate and worship him!!! Send any money you have to the DNC or the Democrat controlled federal government will have to tax it away from you for your own good.

I was wondering recently what was up with this devil’s spawn. As chairman of the intel or whatever senate committee he got away with leaking (flooding) all kinds of military, security info that the NYT spun even further to make the Bush admin look bad and comfort our enemies re Iraq etc.

He should have been executed for the highest of treason, but no one even slapped his wrist and here he is seeking even more power over the people.

What a freakin’ commie, lol.

If this guy hadn’t inherited money

1. He never would have been elected to public office
2. No one would pay any attention to his anti-American rantings

On second thought, I don’t think anyone pays any attention to him now...thank God.
