CBS: Lisa Murkowski 'Not Beholden' to GOP 'Who Turned Their Backs on Her'
Mediaresearchcenter ^ | 11-18-10 | Kyle Drennen

On Thursday's CBS Early Show, correspondent Nancy Cordes reported on Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski declaring victory in her write-in bid for reelection and portrayed her as a victim of the GOP: "[She's] in a very unique position, not beholden to the Republican leaders who turned their backs on her when she decided to run and not beholden to the tea party, which did everything it could to defeat her."

In reality, it was Murkowski who turned her back on the Republican Party after losing the primary and continuing to run against GOP nominee Joe Miller. Cordes sympathetically declared: "This was a huge uphill battle for Lisa Murkowski, who was urged by Republican leaders not to wage this campaign after she lost her primary bid....It was a risky bid and the risk paid off."

They should consider her not part of the party because she won over the actual Republican. She should lose all her seniority and be given the very worst committee assignments now and after 2012. This woman needs to be punished. It’s not like they could ever depend on her for support, so what’s the loss in giving her the utter silent treatment. Let her caucus with the Dems if she wants. That might be all Alaska needs to finally turn the page on her next time around.

Put her ugly arse on an iceberg with a polar bear and watch the fur fly. She is an Alaskan joke and so are the idiots who wrote in her name.

I wonder if CBS felt similarly indignant when Joe Lieberman was rejected in a Democratic primary and had to run as an independent, and whether they felt the Democratic party had turned their backs on Lieberman. The fact is, Miller won the primary for the GOP. If Murkowski didn’t like that, too bad. But the GOP had every obligation and right to help Miller win this seat against all comers, including Murkowski. The disloyalty was her’s, not the GOP’s.

“Time to kick her out of the party.”

Given her actions I’d say she already left.

The GOP didn’t turn their backs on her, the voters did. As I recall the GOP didn’t pull her from any of her committees.

She is such a biich.

Already the stupid media is gloating that this will hurt Palin. The fact is, Palin’s endorsement defeated Murky in the primary. No one expected that Murky would pull this crap against the wishes of her own party and her own promise of not running 3rd party or as a write-in. The bottom line is this woman is a breathing pile of filthy garbage who shouldn’t have been elected dog catcher and the stupid RINOs like Cornyn who passively sat by and did nothing to help Miller.

Liar. They helped her everyway they could to insure that a real conservative would not be elected so they can continue their defeat of America.

McConnell & Friends played a significant role in her victory. If they’d had the stones to remove all committee assignments from her after she decided to go Write-in, they would have taken a large campaign card away from her. She wouldn’t have been able to campaign on the fact that she would be able to do more for Alaska than Miller would because of her senior committee positions.

The wusses wussed out, and didn’t sack up.

Talk about an entitlement mentality, she lost an election which means she was betrayed! It was hers, how dare they cheat her out of it! Why, she will show them!
