I have been out of work since late May.

So, rake leaves, mow lawns, work at McDonald's. You cannot expect society to pick up the tab for your personal failures. This is a free-market-loving community. Work within that context. NO SOCIALISM!

Personal failures for losing a job during an economic downturn? Are you stupid? Ignorant?

Do us all a favor and pound sand.

You've spoken up for the person you are here better than I ever could. Thank you for being honest. I still would not wish my circumstances on you. Good luck.

What a rude and arrogant comment. Much like this sickening thread. Some day this bad karma you are spreading around will come back on you. Maybe you will get your own dose of smug condescension thrown back in your face.

There are 5+ unemployed people for every single job opening.

And BTW, get some class for Christmas.

Rugged individualism is great until you're on the receiving end. Sometimes free-market theory needs to be tempered with humanity.

Just make sure not to ask for any help if you wind up unemployed.

you lack grace... it's not easy to get a job at McDonald's these days... and because of the poor economy, people are raking their own leaves and mowing their own lawns... sometimes people go through tough times "legitimately..." let him voice his frustrations... he doesn't need to hear your judgment of him... he's applied to 200 jobs... i'm sure some of those must have been to places like Taco Bell and Home Depot... you don't have to wish him extended unemployment benefits, but you don't have to be so cruel about it...

It’s a tough economy, and it’s going to get a lot tougher before we pull out of this. The pain of fear has been taken out of this depression, and that only makes it worse, doesn’t it?
