TSA pat-down leaves traveler covered in urine (Non-muslim bladder cancer survivor)

A retired special education teacher on his way to a wedding in Orlando, Fla., said he was left humiliated, crying and covered with his own urine after an enhanced pat-down by TSA officers recently at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

“I was absolutely humiliated, I couldn’t even speak,” said Thomas D. “Tom” Sawyer, 61, of Lansing, Mich. Sawyer is a bladder cancer survivor who now wears a urostomy bag, which collects his urine from a stoma, or opening in his stomach. “I have to wear special clothes and in order to mount the bag I have to seal a wafer to my stomach and then attach the bag. If the seal is broken, urine can leak all over my body and clothes.”

On Nov. 7, Sawyer said he went through the security scanner at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. “Evidently the scanner picked up on my urostomy bag, because I was chosen for a pat-down procedure.”

Once Obamacare kicks in, there will be fewer cancer survivors around to endure this kind of humiliation.

Outrageous is too mild a word for this insult against an American citizen. We should all send this thread link to our Congressmen and Senators and keep sending all these stories to DC. Express your outrage and express your vow to vote them out of office at the first opportunity unless they stop this outrage against We The People.

We just had hundred’s of breast cancer marchers pass our house today. Just think of all those poor women with devices that will be examined by strangers to prove they aren’t terrorists.
Maybe this will be the straw that breaks the PC back and causes the govt to focus on our real security.

Alas, just move to a big city, stay put, and collect money from the government.

This is what Washington wants so just make them happy.

This personal concern stuff is just a foolish fallacy anyway.

We know who we work for, now it's time to get with the program and promote it.

There is WAY too much travel allowed by citizens to be safe.

Safety trumps freedom.

61-year-old bladder cancer survivor named Thomas Sawyer. Obviously a major security threat.

Just what I thought, these guys are clueless of medical equipment and devices. People wear catheters, colostomy bags, etc. and the TSA evidently haven’t briefed their employees about them. I and many other folks wear devices just under the skin...if these guys see them on the scanner, will they think we have some sort of explosive sewn in us...if they don’t know about a urostomy bag, chances are they don’t know about other medical devices.

Earlier today I mentioned other devices in another post:

I don’t even think I’ll attempt to fly...don’t know what they’ll say about this little “hockey puck” device. It’s placed just under the skin, so it sounds like the scanners can pick it up.

Then it makes me wonder about pacemakers, they’re just under the skin as well. Medtronic makes lots of implantable devices for delivery different sorts of meds, regulating the heart, etc.

Hmmm. Mr. Sawyer appears in his photo to be a middle-aged white male. Obvious terrorist material.

I will not fly anymore.

JUST WATCH FOLKS, ZERO WILL STEP IN SOON AND PUT A STOP TO ALL THIS OUTRAGE BY TAKING OVER THE AIRLINES.
JUST LIKE HE DID WITH OUR HEALTH CARE, THE BANKS, THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY AND WALL STREET.
HE IS AN EVIL COMMUNIST WHO WORSHIPS ALL THE DICTATORS IN THE WORLD AND EMULATES THEM.
THIS COUNTRY IS IN DEEP KA KA AND THE SHEEPLE BETTER WAKE UP SOON!
