Jindal: Obama told us not to criticize him on TV
HotAir.com ^ | 11/22/10 | The Right Scoop

In an interview this morning on Glenn Beck’s radio show, Bobby Jindal said that at a meeting with the President during the gulf oil spill, that he and the President of Plaquemines Parish were told specifically by Obama not to go on TV and criticize him. Jindal says that it was clear Obama was frustrated with the level of criticism he was getting and goes on to accuse Obama of caring more about perception and politics than actually cutting through the red tape and getting things done.

This is interesting, having just finished another election season where Obama lied and smeared Republicans on TV every chance he got. He used that car-in-the-ditch-Slurpee metaphor so much that even the news media was begging for something new.

It’d be nice for once if he lived by the same advice he gave others. Yeah, I’m not holding my breath.

Jindal mentioned this on hannity, also.

He not only said he was told not to criticize obama, he said he was guided to stand next to Obama at the Congress. He also said fortunately, Crist pushed in and took the spot, for which he was thankful.

I am SO glad we got rid of Crist.

About time, could someone actually say that Bobby has actually been a good governor too?

Why did I type Congress? I meant to type Conference - press conference.

I need another cup of coffee.

And on Morning Joke and on and on...

Jindal has shown he does not know when to strike. The time to correct Obama was before he left that meeting and then again at that day' press conference.

It's remarkable how much Obama has diminished the office he holds. I didn't think anyone could do the damage that Clinton did, but Obama has far exceeded by expectations in this regard.

Jimmy Carter was incompetent, but he wasn't a small man (not then anyways, now he's pretty small). But Obama has shrunk not only himself with his behavior, but the office as well.

I think it's fair to say that he surpasses the pettiness of even Nixon.

Obama is often compared to Carter (of course) and today, in a post here in FR, he was compared to Nixon.

This story, about Obama’s obsession with media image, makes me think of Obama-as-LBJ.

Obama’s plan was to bask in the glory of his celebrity and charm/BS his way through. Other than that, he had nothin’.

Obama failed to take into account the tens of millions of people who actually expected him to do his d*mned job, keep his nose to the grindstone, work hard, and take whatever criticism people dish out.

I’d remind anyone in public life that they’ve volunteered for the job and are required to take criticism, fair and unfair. Its part of the cost of doing business. Don’t like it? Don’t put yourself in the public eye.

Jindal sounded real good. He didn’t mention that Obama didn’t have Jindal ride with him from the airport to Grand Isle.

Uh, I think Jindal had a few other more urgent priorities at the time.

I agree, but I would add that he set priorities as more urgent when he should have, which is sadly what our president has not been doing all so well at on the national stage.

About time

Jindal has been consistently critical of Obama since the spill, at least.

could someone actually say that Bobby has actually been a good governor too?

Yes.

********************

Jindal is not a fighter or a leader. It is just not in him.

He is a talented man, but his strengths are administrative and conceptual.

Imagine if President Bush at the time of Katrina had ordered Governor Blanco not to go on TV and criticize him. It would have been the #1 story on the evening news.

Meanwhile, Blanco wouldn't let the federal government come in because she thought it wouldn't her good for her politically.
