It maybe the catch-all but it is interstate commerce.

I hat theives... and I can’t stand the fed’s overreach... but I support them in this move to regulate crooks from foreign nations..

For example, I support them shutting down and hunting for everyone involved in the wikileaks fiasco.

How long before they go after sites like this?

If the government wants to feed an underground or black market, this is the way to do it.

I think that is where this is going. If the Obama administration can use TSA to sexually assault air passengers, they’ll do every other egregious thing they can think of to control the populace.

This is a major infringement! Torrent-Finder doesn’t host any torrents or links to torrents. It is merely a search engine! By using frames, the results are actually coming from other torrent sites.

It would be like the government shutting down FreeRepublic.com for embedding a video from YouTube that was copyright protected!

This is crazy!

Anyway, I discovered that Torrent-Finder is still operating, for now, under a different domain name:

http://torrent-finder.info

Cheers

Wow, glad you filled us in. “Hey guys, time to give up...we’re done for.”
Yeah you’re right...fighting this tyrany will be futile...better to just give up now.
I think we all have other things we’d rather do anyways. This response makes things so much easier...for the regime.

I agree.. it makes me very sick as well.  But we have to look at empirical evidence.  Our Constitution and our lives get trampled day after day and we do nothing.  Over and over again.  Of course, there are reasons for that attitude just as there were in the days before the American Revolution, but I don't think there are the same number of people with resolve today as there were back then that eventually led to the right course.

For every post on FR that deals with trampled rights and violations against the Constitution, or moral issues, or other government interference of people's daily lives, I should just post responses of,  "Yeah, so what are you going to do about it?"  In the end, it would be a logically correct response, although it would ruffle some feathers.  Maybe the ruffling would lead to something more solid than typing words on a forum.

I’m on solid belief that this is where things are going.

So, my new response to all of this is going to be, “So what are you going to do about it?”

Don’t take offense.

Executive Order 13439 - Establishing an Interagency Working Group on Import Safety July 18, 2007 (GW Bush)

http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=75580

Fact Sheet: Operation Guardian
http://www.ice.gov/news/library/factsheets/guardian.htm

December 15, 2009, Vice President Joe Biden hosted a roundtable discussion spotlighting the current administration’s commitment to protecting intellectual property rights.
Biden was joined by high ranking government officials, including DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, ICE Assistant Secretary John Morton, Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, FBI Director Robert Mueller and Victoria Espinel, the recently confirmed IP enforcement coordinator, or “copyright czar,” for the U.S. government. This meeting was also attended by leaders from major media conglomerates, union representatives and legal experts.
The White House billed this meeting as the first of its kind. The major topic of discussion was the enforcement of intellectual property rights during a time of rapid technological growth and change.
The industry attendees emphsized the fact that piracy poses a grave danger to the health of their businesses, and thus, to the U.S. economy. Participants voiced their concerns that piracy can result in the loss of jobs and creativity, a consequence that has been raised by the IPR Center, and recently was echoed by ICE Assistance Secretary Morton at a press conference that highlighted the IPR Center’s recent enforcement actions.

Earlier today I had trouble getting on FR. For some reason there was no response. It happens once in awhile.

As I often do when that happens, I went to drudge and there I saw the story of the seized domains and I immediately thought: Oh no, FR is one of them!

What do we do when that happens?

We need an alternate site.

An FR Meetup site in case the worst happens and the ObamaThugs shut this place down.

A place where we can at least stay in communication.

yeah, why don’t they take over wikilinks which is dumping hundreds of thousands of our classified documents on the net. i think HLS has other reasons for doing this stuff and this is just the excuse to start.

They are flexing their muscle. Notice that due process is not used. It is arbitrary power. They could theoretically extend it to other sites as well. The takeover on the internet has begun. Just like the TSA grope policy once they see no resistance at the airports they will extend it to trains, buses etc.. First they came for the......

The American people will stand lust so much then they will march again...not that that will change the direction Bo's taking this country. Again they will not hear the people nor do they care to....fearful times will come I am afraid, and we'll see crime and various other uprisings across our nation...which unfortunately Bo will sit on...no doubt military would be used if necessary. These are just bad equations mounting up...time is not on our side.

How is any of this cost effective? The very nature of the internet will cost the taxpayers millions of dollars to pay jack booted pseudo cyber crime fighting gubbermint employees to shut down 2 or 3 sites. 8 to 10 sites will spring up the next day.

How will they seize foreign domains?......Will they control all local providers? What happens when everybody goes to encryption or uses foreign satellite for internet access?

LMAO....These people are IDIOTS. This will also cause major backlashes against these agencies and they will likely be hit with thousands of DOS attacks by script kiddies with nothing better to do. I wouldn’t be suprised if DHS or ICE domains are hacked and their front pages changed.

Something has to bring this escalating mess to a head.

So what are you going to do about it?

Last week I spoke with a woman who had just returned from four years in China. Interesting conversation how Chinese condust business there. She mentioned they are determined to knock down costs by any means necessary and are ruthless in business dealings even with each other. So with the conversation in mind, and that serve in the retail industy now. I watched and listened with Asian customers much more carefully.

Interesting is they do prove demanding in what they expect. They will check receipts. Expect “new” from stock, not from display cases. Will try to get price down further each and every time...and smile very friendly as they work you.

"And ICE has jurisdiction over music and knockoffs—why?"

I don't get it either. ICE has no enforcement responsibility for copyright infringement that I know of.

If it were FBI or Commerce I could understand.

But ICE?!?!?!?
