World Shaken by Wikileaks
Fox News ^ | November 28, 2010 | Staff

Posted on 11/29/2010 3:10:41 AM PST by lbryce

Some of the diplomatic papers stolen from the State Department and leaked Sunday by Wikileaks show more than just potentially embarrassing revelations about U.S. views of allies but disturbing developments among alleged friends as well as foes and competitive states.

The details from the cables being released -- among 250,000 illegally taken from secret State Department records -- include discussions on the U.S. being unable to stop Syrian arms to Hezbollah, its disappointment in Qatar to stop funding terrorism and hacking by the Chinese government of U.S. computers

Samples of some of the thousands of documents that were to be released by Wikileaks Sunday night began leaking out midday after the German newspaper Der Spiegel and The New York Times released excerpts earlier than planned.

“OK, gang, who do you say is behind this circus? Muslims(Iran, maybe)? Chicoms?”

Maybe patriots, libertarians, or the like.

The only thing I find appalling is that a Pvt. in the US Army could access to anything other than his lunch schedule. That would be the first place to start. How did Pvt. Dickwad get access to these documents?

The most believable information is stolen information. It is also the most unreliable source of information.

This document dump is a black hole operation. Now everyone will believe they know how we think, and no one will question the source.

No, there is a distinct line between libertarianism and treason.

“His main threat is Hillery. And these leaks make the State department look like a bunch of bumbling fools. Hillery will be sacked for cause. Ending her political career.”

Don’t underestimate Hillary. If she does lose her career, Obama is in deep doo-doo. He better watch his back.

The first question that needs to be asked and answered is, "Who would have access to all this classified info?".
And it would be foolish to suggest that it's just one low rank person with a grudge or self righteous attitude.
The number and scope of these documents can only point to "The Highest Levels of Government" as the libtards would say.

I agree.

For example, in one of the cables, an American Diplomat in Panama talks about Noriega - having no clue whatsoever that the American military would invade and capture Noriega one week later...

Has anybody considered, that maybe Wikileaks “Altered” some or all of the documents?

I am “Pro-US”, but I don’t believe everything the US Government says, but I have no reason at all to believe anything Wikileaks says, prints or post. After all these are “digital documents”.

This could be an “Altered Digital Document Dump”.

Julian is likely to be on the hit list every major intelligence service on earth. He'll make Salman Rusdie look like a free man.

It's a tossup whether the Russians or Saudis get him first.

Perhaps that is what someone at the State Dept had in mind.
(Not justifying it, looking at motives)

The only problem with your theory is I haven’t heard anyone suggest that documents are inaccurate (including government officials).

While the release shows how weak our current president is, I for one am glad these documents were leak. Most never should have been classified in the first place.

The government classifies over 8 million documents a year. 7,990,000 documents most likely shouldn’t have been. It is good to know that the President knew Iran was making a nuclear weapon, arms shipments to Hezbollah, Chinese cooperation with North Korea, Saudis financing Al Qaeda, Chinese Cyber Attacks, etc... etc...

It is as bad as we suspected and worse.

What would be ideal if this Ass-guy somehow pissed off the Iranians as well whereby they proclaim a fatwa against him, or a series of Fatwas, any Mullah can proclaim a fatwa, have every single Shi'ite out for his head in gaining an EZ Pass to eternal carnal indulgence.

I can just imagine the headlines:Ass-guy Terminated-Death by Fatwacide.

“Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” - Matthew 10:27-29

Obama promised transparency, and he had no intention of delivering. He was forced to. Now he has egg on his face.

Hillary had better get used to being hauled off to the woodshed, her job just turned to the crappiest one in all of Washington. She is not up to it and it will wear her down to nothing.

Hillary had better get used to being slapped around the 'woodshed'.

This does not endanger the lives of any troops, but just exposes a bunch of left-wing Obama diplomats and cronies. I personally enjoy seeing them squirm.

They wanted gays in the military, well, reap your bitter fruit.

Couldn't happen to a nicer administration.

Oh I agree. Look for a second document dump from the state department concerning background on Obama before she leaves.

Getting rid of Obama but still trying to save the party will not matter as much now if Hillary goes down but nuking him and the communist part of the party will before the last of her power is lost.

I understand what you are saying, and I also have not heard any denials of fact.

I just don't trust the truthfulness of any information, by a group that is intent on getting US and our Allies people killed.

They can be compared to the always true publications found at the check-out stands of your local grocery store.

Am I the only one that likes that this happened?

No. There are a few of us who see this for what it really is.

Those who are condemning Wikileaks on this keep ignoring two things.

1) The MSM sources that are 'publishing' the leaked documents from Wiki are picking and choosing what to print.

2) So far, we are just finding out things our enemies already know.

No, you’re not the only one.

Secrets lead to corruption.....exposing that corruption is ALWAYS a good thing. (as long as soldiers lives are not at risk)
