FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (Nov. 20, 2010) Post personnel have a message for people planning post-Thanksgiving shopping: If you want to put your presents under a live Christmas tree, please wait. Most people go out right after Thanksgiving and purchase their tree, so please get the word out to your folks to just wait a little while. We will have beautiful fantastic trees live, absolutely free for those who wish to pick them up, said Megan ODonoghue of Fort Leonard Woods Directorate of Morale, Welfare and Recreation. Trees will be available beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Auto Craft Shop on post, and until Dec. 15 are available only to active duty servicemembers and their spouses. Remaining trees will be available to all authorized patrons at Fort Leonard Wood beginning Dec. 15.

The fire is the reason they have so many Christmas trees.
They had to cut them down to make firebreaks.
