Two million jobless Americans are scheduled to lose their unemployment benefits between now and Christmas, because Republicans and some conservative Democrats say we can't afford to keep funding the program.1
But guess what? Most of those same members of Congress are supporting an extension of the Bush tax cuts for the rich—a $700 billion tax bailout for millionaires.
It's terrible economic policy, and just plain immoral.
That's why we're aiming to raise $200,000 today for a "Millionaire Bailout Accountability Fund"—money we'll set aside for rallies and hard-hitting ads targeted at members of Congress who vote for more millionaire tax breaks while doing nothing to help struggling families.

With your help, here's some of what we could do together:
An ad blitz in their home districts: We'll run hard-hitting ads in their districts calling them out by name for putting millionaires ahead of working families. And we'll invest in targeted research to make sure we use the most effective messages out there to really get noticed at home.
A major grassroots push: We'll organize rallies in front of their local offices with people who had their unemployment benefits cut off and other Americans who are hurting because of the economy. We'll also reach out to influential community leaders and get them to speak out against the vote and really turn up the pressure locally.
A coordinated town hall program: We'll work with progressive allies across the movement to get huge crowds of constituents out to town hall meetings to let Congress know directly how we feel. We'll work with progressive partners to make sure that members of Congress hear about this vote everywhere they go. It seems to me that if they discover something immoral, they would celebrate it not rail against it.
This is entirely out of character for them!
If there were one honest moveon member, they would be screaming to eliminate the job killing government entitlements first. The EPA would be my first target.

Giving tax dollars to people who aren't working is moral
While letting people with jobs keep their money is immoral?
The logic seems backward.
If I were a Republican in congress right now, I’d introduce a bill that maintains ALL tax rates as they are today, PLUS give a 5% ACTUAL CUT to those making less that $250k a year. Then let the ‘Rats try and vote against an actual CUT for those making under $250k.

One cannot be a Democrat let alone a member of MoveOn.org without being immoral or willingly ignorant. The first is at least not a hypocrite, the second is impervious to reason and their life only works if they have someone else to blame.
America's unemployed millions are being treated differently depending on their prior employment history ~ and the year in which they were born.
I would imagine the Moveon.org people believe they can mount demonstrations with thousands of unemployed youth ~ but that's only if they pay them.
By now the youth have figured out they don't get unemployment compensation ~ and by living at home in mom's basement, they don't get welfare either!
The Leftwingtards and the Democrats seem incapable of understanding that it's all about jobs.
I predict that if they keep this up they'll be out of power like the Republicans after Hoover!
While that's all great with Move On, allowing rich people (Rich = anyone over $250,000 as per their definition) to keep more of their own money, perhaps to create more jobs(?) is immoral.
Keith Olbermann currently makes something around $7 Million a year. Since he is one of the leaders of the Democrat Party, why doesn't he give $6,750,000.00 to the US Treasury each year, in order to set the example. That would still leave him “rich”.
I think the millionaires can out raise ‘em....they’ll simple say, “I call your $200,000 and raise by $200,00.”
To some liberals, taxing the “rich” seems to be a personal vendetta without reason.
I guess I just don’t see how one could feel some sort of accomplishment or their life being made meaningfully whole by virtue of raising taxes on someone else.
Not all certainly, but, many of these people on unemployment are staying on it as long as possible. I know one of them. He says he gets more unemployment then he would get going back to work. That’s what we are paying for. They need to go back to the 6months with extensions. And as time goes by they need to give them less and less money. If it’s going hungry or working at mcd’s, you can bet many would do the latter.
EPA, TSA, IRS, Homeland Security, that’s where we need to start. Never like Homeland Security anyway. I knew Bush would not abuse it, but, the potential for some serious abuse is def there.
Blocking the unemployment benefits was the wrong battle at the wrong time..
This is why the GOP is called the Stupid party.
People are going to remember that as the first thing the GOP did after the election. And it’s going to hurt us in 2012.
