"It's unsettling that there is no credible investigation to how and who stole all those documents."

There is an ongoing military investigation. I'm sure that military prosecutors are evaluating Manning's liability beyond what he's already been charged with, specifically to see if he might qualify for the additional charge of Art. 106a-Espionage, which of course carries with it the possibility of a death sentence.

For several reasons, military prosecutors as well of the chain of command (to include the President and his subordinates), don't make public pronouncements with respect to criminal investigations. Why? Because of something known as Unlawful Command Influence (UCI), which can be grounds for reversal on appeal.

However, the Congress is not tethered by such legal constraint. They can investigate, and say whatever they wish without jeopardizing Manning's prosecution. I'm sure when the new Congress is installed, this will be the first order of business as far as hearings are concerned.

Kill the Wikileaks owner and founder. He's going to release the data anyway and send a message to the next media buttwipe that if they irresponsibly put out classified documents it will happen to them and their families. There has to be some culpability to the MSM for endangering national security and behind the scenes thinking. As for the queer Private that downloaded the documents and sent it to Wikileaks, he needs to have a speedy courts martial and put in front of a firing squad armed with fully automatic AK-47’s...he doesn't deserve a US round.

The Wikileaks documents were redacted before they were released. Everyone needs to wrap their little brain around that factoid.

Got this heads up from a friend in the Army

The Government is tracking and watching anyone who accesses the Wiki leaked data. Even googling it will add you to a list.
All military has been ordered to not look at it and DOD Civilians are also ordered not to view it.

Usually I blow off ATS as nuts, but that is a good synopsis of what I am finding- especially considering Assange’s history prior to Wikileaks.

Does this fool NOT realize that this makes his removal imperative? I think this hacker-boy’s in WAAAAAY over his little, empty head.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that is because of what The Jester found- hidden trojans imbedded all throughout the files. Even The Jester hasn’t been able to crack them, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some NSA guys did and know what kind of havoc they can raise. (I am sure the ‘insurance’ is more than just information but is probably some nasty viruses).

What needs to be realized is that the leaking of info will become a way of life. It’s the digital age of LATERAL CONNECTIVITY, the death of heirarchical top down control apparats and the birth of a new form of democracy in which the DATA will be allowed to speak for itself, freed from any interpretive spin. Buckle up kids, it’s time for a little sentient personal autonomy. Blow the whistle yourself, nobody higher up will...

"The Government is tracking and watching anyone who accesses the Wiki leaked data. "

From government network computers. That's an important caveat. But, if you are an employee of the federal government, you have been instructed to not view the materials.

C’mon. They’ll release it anyway. It’s just a matter of whether we get slow leaks, or one big one.
