Bloomberg Businessweek reported on December 2 that five GOP leadership aides, speaking anonymously because a decision isn't final, say incoming House Speaker John Boehner has discussed ways to prevent Paul from becoming chairman or to keep him on a tight leash if he does.

Exactly my sentiment. Others on this thread just don't get it.
Ron Paul was the "only one" to predict the country was going bankrupt? Really now?
Easy to promise. He will promise and not do it if required. Ron Paul can at least be trusted to keep his word. This is the closest we come to getting the Fed audited. You do not have to support Ron Paul to hope that he gets the position. You just need to understand that those robbing us need to be stopped.
Each of these statements is a reductionist distortion egregious enough to amount to an out-and-out lie.
You're free to dislike Paul, but try to maintain some honesty while you're about it.
“I can deny it in in heartbeat.”
If thats the case, you are a bloody imbecile
The founding fathers were isolationists. They warned frequently against foreign entaglements.
Amen, brother.
Its a FR tradition that if you actually have real sensible solutions for the economic problems this country faces, such as Ron Paul does, you will be labeled a loon.
FR is economically illiterate.
I disagree with Ron Paul on the terrorist cult of Islam and his understanding of it, but if I hated him for poor knowledge of something he has not been exposed to, I would have to hate 99% of Americans for not knowing much about Islam and foreign policy. This is a pretty silly position to take.
As for the Tea Party, I am honest enough to admit that it began as a libertarian movement and the conservatives then joined in. In fact, search for news items before May 2009 and this fact will be borne out. I also know this from first hand experience. The people I knew personally who organized local Tea Parties were the Ron Paul supporters.
Another thing: Do you seriously think that every House member in the Tea Party caucus who had a prior history of being in elected office voted against pork every single time?
Yep. No more dealmakers.
Drain the whole swamp or go home.
Really now?? Well...then name another elected official who predicted the country was going bankrupt.
In any case, I want an accounting of the last several years, especially the last two years under Obama but also including the last couple years of Bush’s time.
Until now I’ve been wanting to know where two or three trillion went, and now I am beginning to understand that much more than that went out unnanounced at least to the ordinary JQ Public. The two or three trillion they talk about seems to be a small part of the whole. So, yes, I want an accounting.
Ron Paul picks his nose and eats his boogers...... so do his supporters.
I wouldn’t that crazy in charge of anything.
Amen and amen. On the other hand, they're kind of like family, so whatcha gonna do?
Marvelous debating skills there. Where was it that you first studied the art of rhetoric?
“Ron Paul picks his nose and eats his boogers...... so do his supporters.”
I guess that’s about as good as it gets for you Sarah-bots, try to exercise more than one brain cell at a time if you can please.
Ron Paul is a single issue guy, the type that just won’t shut up about that issue. I imagine he’s a real blast at parties (NOT!) but in the position of chairman of the committee that over sees the Fed I think this guy is the only hope America has. If they succeed in giving him the boot then there is no hope for the middle class. We’ll all be serfs of the wallstreet bankers and America will be nothing more than a third rate banana republic.
You guys may hate him for his other positions but we need him in that chairmanship in order to even have a chance.
“Really now?? Well...then name another elected official who predicted the country was going bankrupt.”

I don’t need to use debating skills when I know I’m right.
Try not to take it personal.... I just think the guy is a crazy kook.
I think he’s likable, but I see him as I would a loving dog that refuses to learn not to crap on the kitchen floor.
You get him to quit craping on the floor........ and then we can talk. ;>)
First he would need to be sane. LOL
As for Palin... you bet, I love her and she is going to be our next “real” president.
As for my brain cells LOL... I don’t need them—I retired at 53 and my wife keeps them locked up.
Cheers.....
If there’s an opportunity to put Ron Paul in a position to run a committee with subpoena power to find out about where our trillions of money have been squandered, I’m all for it.
