In visit to Denver, Jeb Bush says he doesn't agree with Arizona's immigration law

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said if his children walked the streets of Phoenix they might look awfully suspicious to police. His wife, Columba, is from Mexico.

Harvard professor Robert Putnam told the same crowd of city officials from across the country at the Denver Convention Center on Saturday that his grandchildren might likewise draw suspicions. His daughter married a Latino man, he said.

I really don’t know what you are talking about. Some person posting here on FR is not a former governor who may run for president. Nor are the Arizona law or the actions of the Arizona police governed by some comment here or elsewhere.

I don’t plan to accept the destructiveness of massive illegal immigration for the sake of Jeb Bush’s fantasies about his wife and kids, or because you don’t like a comment posted on FR.

Illegal immigration is an absurd abomination to any nation. I don’t care if the illegals are red, white, blue, purple or whatever.

“This is the guy whose daughter is a crack addict, right?”

And...

“TALLAHASSEE, Fla., June 18— Gov. Jeb Bush’s wife, Columba, was fined by customs officials in Atlanta for failing to declare $19,000 in clothing and jewelry she bought in a trip to Paris this week.”

He had me but he lost me.

This seems reminiscent of the “moderate” Republican efforts in the sixties to stop Goldwater with someone like Rockefeller, Scranton, etc. to beat LBJ. I’ve seen that movie before and didn’t like it then.

Let’s face it Bush’s comment isn’t based on his wife, kids, or the Arizona law. It’s 100% politics and that’s the true evil of illegal immigration. No one will throw a voter’s illegal mommy and daddy out, and the politicians are mortified that the 12 million illegals will become 12 million voters who hate them someday.

And that’s how illegal immigration undermines the society.

I might even accept Jeb’s approach but for one gigantic fact. We all know that after allowing 12 million illegals the government is NOT going to control the border, and those 12 million new citizens will become a political battering ram to keep the border open.

Jeb Bush is the perfect example of a man “educated” far beyond his ability to understand a very simple concept — enforcement of current U.S. law. I find it ironic that these “best and brightest” of the Ivy League educated cannot begin to grasp even the simplest of concepts that a slow high school student can. Ah, but then you'd have to live in the REAL world. For J.B. and other elite “swells” the real world is a special case and not the normal.

I would imagine that he was sought out for his position on the matter for the libs to have a so called “conservative” to point to and say “look, even this guy is against it”.

Against what?
Specifically the Arizona style immigration law headed to the Florida legislature.

From Wikipedia:

"On January 29, 2002, according to a police report made public via The Smoking Gun, Noelle Bush attempted to “fraudulently obtain a prescription” at a Walgreens Drug Store located in Tallahassee, Florida.[2] The attending officers, Bob Bascom and Mark E. Dent of the Tallahassee Police Department, ascertained that Bush had telephoned the pharmacy using the name “Noelle Scidmore” in an attempt to obtain Xanax, a prescription drug used to treat anxiety disorders. As a result of her arrest, Bush was ordered by a judge to attend a rehabilitation program at the Center for Drug-Free Living in Orlando, Florida.[3] During her time at the facility, Bush was found in contempt of court after being found in possession of two grams of cocaine, and was sentenced to 10 days in jail.[3]

Upon completion of her rehabilitation program, the governor's press office released a statement on his behalf. “Columba and I are pleased that our daughter Noelle has completed this step, and grateful for the treatment she's received ... . She has worked hard to get here. We are proud of her efforts and love her very much.”[4] Regarding her treatment, Noelle Bush herself told the court “It's been quite a challenge, and I'm grateful.”[4]

"...he believes there are solutions other than a law criminalizing illegal immigrants, he said. "It's the wrong approach," he said.

Attacks on other posters are prohibited. Is Jeb posting? Is his daughter posting? Is his wife posting?

These people don't like us and don't come around often.

But then, living in a high rent, gated, thoroughly protected little mansion, you don’t have to worry about those pesky illegals selling drugs, carrying disease, murdering, robbing, raping, voting illegally....you know, the stuff we in the serf class actually consider important!!!! And when RINOs like you turn 40 million Mexicans into welfare collecting democrat voters, it will be the “little people” whose nation and liberty will be destroyed. You and your brother, father and family won’t be bothered at all, will you!!!

BTW, the challenge was tossed by Jeb. He said his kids would look suspicious walking down the street, and so it is ~ AND for very good reason.

Fortunately for them their list of PRIORS is going to give them a quick ID and an OK to go on their way.

He's the guy who brought up his kids anyway.

It’s Okay. Keep talking Jeb, and reminding people why you shouldn’t ever hold a national office.

Go over to the RINO party with your brother, Karl Rove and the like.

Jeb Bush’s wife Columba is from one of the wealthiest families in Mexico. They are good BFF’s with Vicente Fox and his wife who is also an Heiress. At the top its just one happy elitist family. So if you were ever wondering why Dubya didn’t have any interest in securing the border and why Jeb doesn’t either now you know.

Stay out the Bushes.
