Pearl Harbor Salute (Vanity)
Self | 12-07-10 | Self

I don't do many posts, so I hope I have this right. This is a cherished photo of my Dad, who was in Pearl Harbor in 1941 during the attack.

"Somehow reminds me of James Dean."

Now there's one I never even thought about...probably just the white t-shirt thing...but he was just "Dad" to me.

Thanks, Frank

Thank you Frank. I have waited for someone to even mention that this was Dec 7. “We will never forget - a day that will live in infamy.” Yet, it seems that people have forgotten. I will not. I remember it well because it changed my life forever.

Nice. My late Father in Law was there ... USN Medical Corpsman.

It was, he said, a "very busy day".

I can’t say one way or the other about his kids, but your dad’s car was dripping with class. What’s that, about a ‘39 Packard?

I don't know for sure...I wasn't born yet. But I think he got out and came home (Georgia) in 1942 or thereabouts. He married my Mother in 1943 and insofar as she wasn't in Hawaii, leads me to that educated guess. Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

These are the sort of things I wish now that I had asked him when he was alive.

Oh no, another vanity!

Wait, a good vanity. No, an EXCELLENT vanity. If all vanities were this good, nobody would complain about them.

Thanks for sharing the photo of your father!
