Kayaker presumed dead after Congo crocodile attack By Jenny Gross - JOHANNESBURG | An acclaimed South African outdoorsman who was leading a kayaking expedition from the source of the White Nile into Congo was dragged from his craft by a crocodile as two Americans watched, horrified. The guide is presumed dead. The two Americans paddled to safety after the Tuesday morning attack on the Lukuga River in Congo. The International Rescue Committee helped evacuate the Americans to a nearby town after Tuesday's attack, said Ciaran Donnelly, the organization's regional director in the Central African country. The body of 35-year-old Hendrik Coetzee, who was living in Uganda, has not been recovered.

Some people just no longer have the survival gene, IMO.

They insist on finding more & more stupid ‘vacations’ to entertain themselves.

Sorta like Crack Cocaine: Whatever Fred & Martha did last year has to be topped by something wilder & stupider this year.

Their life insurance should be cancelled.

Appropriate byline for such a story.

Awful way to die, though, RIP...

Yeah - don’t go anywhere near crocs unless you are a big Hippo with an attitide. One reason why I like Hippos. They just want to be left alone but if people mess with them or their children then look out.

Texans share those attributes.

"Don't Mess With Texas!"

Well Texans need to get rid of stinking open border RINOs like Kay Bailey, Cornyn and Rick Perry. Florida’s GOP has the same problem.

As you are being drowned and chewed up by the croc which do you think would be foremost in your mind? Or are you wishing for the inevitable to hurry up?

Nature red in tooth and claw.

Earth *will* eat you if you aren't the smartest, strongest thing in the vicinity.

It's why there are no unicorns or functional socialists anywhere on Earth.

And note to everyone: We really need to stop saving the socialists from the multi-faceted crocodiles that constantly offer to take them off our hands at no cost.

Socialists should be encouraged to consume suicide inducing drugs at every opportunity.

I used to have to do deployment reports on local parasitic diseases for obscure places. Hours in a medical library looking at gross pictures. Quite a few easily gotten parasitic infections are untreatable, or the treatment has significant mortality rates itself.

Fugehdaboutit.

Or be consumed by liberalcide-inducing crocs, either way.

Hey, some of us take risks...calculated risks because life is just not meant to be all about safety. Take going to Ranger School for instance. It is dangerous but I’m glad some choose to go (not me). Others do the tough stuff to prepare themselves, see what there is to see, or learn something.

The catch-22 is that Life if too valuable and fragile to take risks but Life is too short not to...

If I get killed by a rattlesnake on one of my deep woods hikes, or killed on my motorcycle negotiating traffic, or freeze to death on one of my mountain trips, well I’m afraid you Dawinists will be sad to learn that my genes have already been passed on and I have five children that are just as stubborn as me.
