From the article: ... [Enforcing immigration laws] has deprived some families of their breadwinner, and kept mothers from their children. In some cases, their only offense is having a blown tail light.

...their only offense is having a blown tail light. Oh, and being here illegally. There, I fixed it.

Regarding losing breadwinners and Moms being kept away from their kids: I’m sorry, I have as much compassion as the next guy. But when you make a conscious decision to break the law (by illegally breaking into my country) you should be prepared to accept the consequences. Illegals who bring their kids here are reprehensible parents.
Seal the border.
Illegals out!

but some worry it will chill law enforcement efforts to build trust and cooperation with the Hispanic community. Why don't the police stop enforcing all laws so they can build trust and cooperation with everybody?

Only 546? Big deal. Hell, there are thousands of ‘criminal domestic terrorists’ flagged every day at the airports.

[Enforcing immigration laws] has deprived some families of their breadwinner, and kept mothers from their children. In some cases, their only offense is having a blown tail light. Yeah, and liberating Auschwitz put a lot of breadwinner guards out of work too. Cry me a river.
