We still have a harvest gold bathroom. You can change the shag carpet, you cant change your view.Ain't that the truth? *smiling* We went to a beach house for Christmas last year that was right on Lake Mary, in Twin Lakes. I was in seventh heaven. Stayed up a good part of the evening just watching the snow fall on the lake. I'm hoping we can get out there again soon.
Looks like the snow is helping out out. Not much we can do about them until spring!
I remember a blizzard in Chicago maybe early 1978. The cars on the snow routes were towed and loads of them had V-shaped front bumpers for years!
Wasn’t that the storm where the politicians took a bunch of heat?
Love it! As long as I have wood, food, and whiskey, I’m cool.
Wow Indy, that’s nasty even for where you live. Pretty pictures though :-)
We only had 3-4 inches but the wind is horrible. First official blizzard this year in SE WI?
Beautiful pictures! And here I just got done shoveling the one inch or so of show here in NW Milwaukee. What a difference 10 or 20 miles can make.
We look alot like you!
I love winter!
We discontinued the TV over two years ago...we're much happier now.
We’re about 35 miles to Good Hope road. No kidding, what a difference.
In Seattle we get wet sticky snow - it sticks to my dish and I loose reception every time. A broom duct taped to an extension pole does the trick.
In a couple of months, I’m moving to a condo.....no dish allowed. Whole place is wired for cable. I’m gonna miss Direct TV like crazy. They are eons ahead of regular cable.
Yap, I remember that one also! I worked at 93rd and stony island and lived in Downers Grove, a 35 mile journey each way and my 78 Chevy Malibu made it both ways.
The scariest moment I recall is when it was below zero for like 10 days in a row and the snow on streets had frozen into solid sheet of ice. My car inched its way to a traffic light and would not stop and started sliding at 45 degree angle in the opposite lane! Fortunately there were no cars in my way, and my car came to a stop in a head-on collision position with a stopped city bus at the traffic light in opposite direction. Good thing I was young and strong and my heart could withstand the jolt!!
Love the puppy pic!!!
Here’s my blizzard story. As I write this it is 83 degrees here in Phoenix, with no clouds and no wind. I may need another ice cube for my daiquiri. Brrr!
Hi Indy, I think that was the baby blizzard of 1979 when mayor Michael Bilandic was defeated due to poor snow removal situation.
What town?
When you have lived in Wisconsin as long as I have this is just another day in paradise.
Beautiful.
Sounds like Rockford.
