Beautiful pics but glad I’m here. :-)

Lots of rain here in SW WA but no snow.

Merry Christmas to you all!

My daughter and hubby are being transferred to Ft. Lewis when he’s back from Afghanistan. Probably the spring sometime.

Yeap, we had one heck of an ice storm in 1976. Three inches of ice covered everything. No electricity for 5 days.

Ft. Lewis and the area is nice, I think they’ll like it. Wasn’t your daughter stationed there once before? I

We got a couple inches of snow with more coming. The wind is starting to pick up and that’s gonna suck.

They had orders for there once, but that was changed and they went to Ft. Campbell, Ky instead. That’s were they are right now. This could all change.

Fortunately, the wind has died down now, so it's safe to go out, but the temp's dropping. Mid-teens below tonight is the forecast.

There sure is nothing quite like the sound of a world covered in new-fallen snow. So quiet, yet, as you say, the smallest sounds you can hear are so distinct.

Out in the Coachella Valley, it’s 81 right now....and the snowbirds from the northern tier are absolutely giddy today.

The mother of all blizzards was in Chicago 1967. 45 inches of snow fell in 36 hours. It started snowing on Thursday afternoon and did not quit until Friday night. The city came to a standstill for several days. People were stuck at work, on hi-ways for 2 days! My trusty Corvair Monza made the 5 mile trek home but then was unmovable for a entire week until the city plows finally cleared my street. The main roads in the city were drivable on Saturday but city buses were the only vehicles operating there. My wife and I had to walk a mile and half to the grocery store, and I still recall how heavy those bags felt during that walk. Snow drifts were to the ceilings on most 1 story homes.

Here are some pictures:

Wow, you could be stuck there for years!

Global climate change, at work. Next thing you know, it will rain, then it might be windy, get hot, and before you know it, snow all over again.

It’s like we have 4 series of weather crisis per year?! Oh the huge manatee...
