Charles Krauthammer Tells Bill O’Reilly Sarah Palin Must Expand Policy Knowledge
Mediaite ^ | 12/14/10 | Glen Davis

Bill O’Reilly recently talked with frequent Fox News guest Charles Krauthammer to handicap potential GOP candidates’ chances in the 2012 presidential election. Krauthammer called Mitt Romney the front-runner” and said Mike Huckabee has established himself as a “major player”…but his most dissected comments will probably be his remarks on one Sarah Palin.

Krauthammer compared Palin’s problem to Hillary Clinton’s in the late 1990s – strong support from her core base, virulent opposition from most others. O’Reilly asked if the level of opposition to Palin is the media’s fault, and while Krauthammer said they’ve “contributed enormously” and that “the animus to her is unprecedented,” he also allowed that “she is not practiced in policy” and that the infamous Katie Couric interview was “not a ‘gotcha’ interview.” According to Krauthammer, Palin’s growth in mastering policy issues will shape her fate:

“I think if you want to expand your base, you have to get into policy even though it sounds dull.”

Yes, I don't get all this angst about her EVEN daring to join the primary?

She will rise or fall like all the rest.

And why does every other Tom, Dick, or Harry, get to make a decision about running...un-accosted?

Why this concerted effort to stop her?

It’s amazing the credit you’ll heap on her. As if every conservative in the land wasn’t vociferously opposed to ObamaCare. Hell, we were beating the crap out of RINO Mitt for his version of it long before “ObamaCare” entered the lexicon.

My goodness, you're going to make me have to look up "platitudes".

Sarah Palin has written and spoken extensively over the past two years, laying out "serious and detailed ideas", with more than enough detail to establish that she has a thorough understanding of a wide variety of issues facing the nation and the world.

You can find all her writings and speeches with some simple searches. One who refuses to read is no better off than one who can't.

You're denial isn't amazing. It's disgusting and absurd.

Everyone knows she changed the national debate and public opinion with her three words, obama's death panels'

Heck, exit polls were even taken this past November, and seniors said they voted GOP for the first time because of Sarah Palin telling them about "death panels" in obamacare.

Now go get over yourself.

I adore Sarah, but I’m with you on the FB thing. Get an adult platform. Even her own website or blog would work for me. But FB? Puh-leez.

Here's a link to PalinTV, In her own words, unfiltered (just a little extra for the reading impaired).

You made some good points. But let me tell you, I was not that impressed with his story about Obama coming off of AF-1 and instead of discussing with Jindal about the spill, Obama dressed him down about Food Stamps.

Jindal stood there with a deer in the headlights look.

He should have told Obama right there on the tarmac—”Hey, pal, we have millions of gallons of oil spilling while you’re here for a photo op. I don’t a sh%t about Food Stamps right now. Call that idiot Salazar right now and tell him I want permission for those berms right now.I am done asking. If you can’t do that, get back up those stairs and take off, and those berms will be there by Friday.”

See, that’s a leader. None of this “respect for the office” crap for this Marxist.

Jindal was being punished because he was a Republican. Surely he must have known that with Obama. Obama and Salazar have almost ruined Louisiana’s economy.

Jindal wringing his hands and waiting and waiting for permission made him look weak.

Had he just acted decisively on behalf of his state he would have been a national hero. This could have been Obama’s Katrina and should have been.

All I am saying is when you have an emergency on your hands, you can;t wait for others to act. And I feel Jindal was too deferential to the Feds. His deference has been repaid—now all new drilling is verboten on the Gulf, and Louisiana will suffer the loss of many good jobs. Even now, Jindal should be pounding someone’s desk to get this ban overturned.

As much as folks like him, we both know he is not Constitutionally qualified to be President, just like Obama.
After two years of an illegal President we have to make sure 1) Obama is given the bum’s rush out of the White House and 2) We never allow this to happen again.

Why this concerted effort to stop her?

My guess? They're all afraid she's going to waltz to the nomination and then lose the general election. Idiots, all.

To me, this is a must read. I think this column says it all. The left sees history's fist coming. Again.

There is still time for her to change people's views of her, but she has to prove to the independents and her own party that she is prepared to be POTUS.

While you were sleeping, we had these 2010 elections, wherein Sarah Palin and TEA Party voters (Republicans, Independents, and some Democrats) brought about the greatest nationwide conservative election wins in the history of the country. That was the only close-to-accurate poll you will see until just weeks before the next election.

All these current polls are "push-polling" BS, designed to reverse the effects of the conservative tsunami we just experienced.

This is the nature of the polling business. Pollsters produce results to satisfy whoever is paying them to influence voter opinion. As the elections near, the pollsters have to adjust their results to more closely reflect reality, or else their reputation as unbiased pollsters suffer beneath the truth that that are all a bunch of fabricating frauds.

He thinks Obama is intelligent. I think Obama is merely good at passing for intelligent; I don’t think he’s stupid, but Obama is certainly not the intellectual he likes to think he is. There is much to admire about Mr. Krauthammer and his usually excellent commentary, but his admiration for Obama’s supposed intellect is disappointing.

How does she compare to Obummer he is the one to beat.

Just like Hillary was going to be "the one to beat" in 2008.

It's a mistake to choose the Republican presidential candidate on such a reactionary basis. We must choose on the basis of how well the candidate represents and communicates limited governmnet principles that will bring prosperity and freedom back to America. Screw what the Democrats are doing or saying. That's playing defense. Republicans need to go on offense and stay focused on letting Americans know that ours is the party to liberate them from government soft tyranny and slavery.

We can have zero idea who the Dem nominee for 2012 is going to be; we sure as hell miscalculated in 2008, didn't we? We were more concerned with "somebody who can beat Hillary!" than with "someone who holds up the limited government banner for the GOP and America." Choosing our candidate based on his/her ability to "beat" a particular opponent leaves us wide open to manipulation by Democrats and the media by letting them establish the terms.

There's only one way to be immune to that kind of manipulation: stay focused on the GOP limited government message. WE establish the terms and to hell with which idiot the Democrats nominate this time around.

If it was purely for love of country, or greater good, wouldn’t she have settled on the lowly sum of one million an episode?

Well, you see, visitor from another economic system, under free enterprise there are these things called "market forces" which regulate supply and demand of goods and/or services.

Yep. It was “death panels”. Had nothing to do with every conservative under the sun blasting away at it, Rush/Levin/Savage, bloggers, the tea party movement, the Chamber of Commerce, opposing doctors groups, industry groups, the Heritage Foundation, Jim DeMint, every GOPer seeking office, etc. It was Sarah.

In fact, she’s so influential, I think we can also credit her for opposition against TARP (nevermind, scratch that), opposition to carbon caps (oops...scratch it), the defeat of LOST (no, wait), and the country turning against amnesty (cough cough).

I’ll bet you she’s about ready to bust loose with a sizzling critique of the DREAM Act or DADT any day now.

She’s a regular Dynamo.

What they fail to realize is that they're not dealing with another George H.W.Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush or John McCain type of elitist, can't we all get along, type of personality. The woman is a fighter and not afraid, in the least, of smacking down an opponent when needed and doing it very effectively.
Don't back up, reload is her type of politics (that's called a "Leader" for the stupid here).

I was around for Reagan and Palin is Reagan in High Heels! But she is better looking, Reagan was not in his prime.

Palin is quicker in getting her words out than any politician in the last 50 years, this is a sign she says what she believes!

Finally, someone who tells the Truth!

Some people seems to think a woman can’t run this country, that’s another reason why she needs to be the first woman President!

She would do a lot to hurt the men having sex with men lifestyle,

Normal would be back in again!

That’s probably the biggest reason that the anti Palin freepers keeping spurring out all the same negatives Reagan lived with, yes, our token liberal democrat Trolls and with their sick lifestyle)!

I wonder if “pissant” is a LOG CABIN REPUBLICAN

She's just doing the job that Duncan couldn't do, no matter how hard he tried. Get a damn clue!
