Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City , N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said.
The intruder, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen andBrunswick counties..

and let US not forget Jay Rockefeller. He exercised his 2nd Amendment right by keeping an M-16 handy at his District of Columbia residence. His wife, CEO of local public TV may have since put the kabosh to the KABOOM.
Diane Fienstien used to pack a gun until she married a zillionare and could afford to hire people to carry them for her. And Don Perata, one of the most anti-gun California pols ever, who pushed through the CA “assault weapon ban” and many other laws, has both a CCW permit and an AR15.
The mark of feudalism, the nobles are armed, peasants are not.

I see several problems here. More range time and/or more caliber needed. If this loon was an anti, he probably had a .22 derringer with 2 shots.

The idea of gun control is absolute nonsense.
I remember the Rowan story. Add Diane Feinstein to the list.

And the gun was not legally his. They claimed it was his son's, an FBI agent, and yet it was kept in daddy's bedroom.
How about Rosie Odonnel and ALL the “famous people’ who have security guards , security around their homes and of course, bodyguards.
LOL, interesting twist, but it does nothing to invalidate or dilute the strength of the message. That was very well written, even if done under a nom de guerre.
Why the original author did that, I don’t know. Who wouldn’t want to take credit for such a well written piece? (Well, maybe someone who hobnobs in the Manhattan Cocktail Circuit and is uncomfortable when the libs sneer at him and use the word “Neanderthal”, but...somehow I don’t think this guy falls in that category...)

The shooting happened over a year ago. There was a recent (November of this year) break in at the Senators home.

Gun Control: It’s past being a political issue. Over the past two years, I’ve seen small arms being developed and deployed by other nations that are significantly more advanced that what the United States has been able to produce. Many of these small arms systems are incorporating technology that expands and enhances the capabilities and the roles these guns will fill.
With this being said, the issue of gun control has become a National Security issue. The ability of our nation to counter this technology simply does not exist due to the nature of the gun control laws on the books currently.
While our enemies develop rifle systems that can accurately deliver full automatic fire at ranges the M16 and similar weapons could only dream of, the United States Government is more interested in ensuring that the citizens cannot protect themselves against enemies... foriegn or domestic. With laws in place such as the 1968 Gun Control Act, the 1934 National Firearms Act, and the 1986 Hughes Amendment, the ability of the firearms industry to research and develop effective counters to what our enemies have is stiffled to the point where we are now 50 years behind the technology curve.
Gun Control has had a dangerous effect on the security of our nation. Every elected official from 1934 to present is responsible for this. None of these people want to ensure the safety of the United States over their insatiable desire to control everything and everyone.
Any elected official that supports gun control is committing treason. They are aiding the enemy by restricting the firearms manufacturers in this nation from developing effective means to keep us safe.
I don’t know about you, but I have a serious problem with this situation. My question to our elected officials is this... Does control mean that much to you that you are willing to endanger every man, woman, and child by ensuring that not only our armed forces but the citizens as well do not have the tools needed to fight tyranny or invasion or simply more violent criminals?
