We should compile a list of Liberals who are vehemently anti-gun but then found to be packing heat if not actually shooting someone...

Does anyone remember that vehemently anti-gun NY Times(?) columnist, Carl Rowan who shot two kids for simply swimming in his pool?

"The intruder, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening,"

Maybe if he hadn't been so vehemently anti-gun, he would have learned to be a better shot.

Of course...it’s always been about restrictions/prohibitions on you, but not them. They’re special. You’re not.

"If guns are outlawed, only ____________ will have them." Looks like the old slogan needs a slight alteration.

Liberal hypocrisy at its most blatant and worse.

Anti gun nuts should take note.

Criminals will target anti gun zealots.

I myself own a gun and am not afraid to use it. Guns were made for protection and personal safety. It is that rare psycho dumbass that creates problems by going on shooting sprees and then commits suicide. It is not the gun itself that is the problem but the mental health of unbalanced individuals that IS the problem.

THIS IS THE BEST WORDED PRO-GUN ARGUMENT I HAVE EVER READ.
Very good article, of course from a Marine !!!!

“The Gun Is Civilization”

Interesting take and one you don’t hear much. . . . . .

As the Supreme Court hears arguments for and against the Chicago , IL Gun Ban,
I offer you another stellar example of a letter (written by a Marine), that places the proper perspective on what a gun means to a civilized society.

Read this eloquent and profound letter and pay close attention to the last paragraph of the letter....

“The Gun Is Civilization” by Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret)

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force.
If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force.
Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion.
Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force.
You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.

There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad force equations.
These are the people who think that we’d be more civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a [armed] mugger to do his job.
That, of course, is only true if the mugger’s potential victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat—it has no validity when most of a mugger’s potential marks are armed.

People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that’s the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

Then there’s the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury.
This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.

People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don’t constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst.
The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.

The gun is the only weapon that’s as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight lifter.
It simply wouldn’t work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn’t both lethal and easily employable.

When I carry a gun, I don’t do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I’m looking to be left alone.
The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don’t carry it because I’m afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn’t limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force.
It removes force from the equation... and that’s why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

By Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret.)

So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. This is worth printing and sharing with others!

That list should also include the maniacs in Hollywood. They surround themselves with armed security & probably even carry but contribute significantly to rabid gun control causes. Rosie O’Donnell comes to mind (among many others).

“We should compile a list of Liberals who are vehemently anti-gun....”

Senator Diane Feinstein (D-Ca) goes to the top of the list. Her CCW was issued by the local sheriff of her home town......San Francisco, Ca. To top that off, her husband had a deal with the Chinese Co, Norinco, to import AK-47 look alikes to the US.....You know, the same ones that Diane is always holding up at anti 2nd Amendment press events!

Same Diane that during the Bush years, was allowed to quietly resign her chairmanship of the Senate VA Hospital oversight committee when the deplorable conditions at Walter Reed Army Hospital were made public.......

She’s up for re-election in 2012! Vote her out!

This isn't news - The shooting happened August 23, 2009.

Soles, a democrat, was indicted in January, 2010 on a felony firearms charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury.

In February, 2010 he pled to a reduced charge of misdemeanor assault and walked away with only a $1,000 fine.

Shortly before the shooting he was accused of fondling a man when the man was 15 and paying him money to keep the crime quiet.

Senator Dianne Feinstein is an anti-gun Senator who still somehow found the fortitude to obtain for herself a concealed firearms carry permit, a privilege she wants to deny others.

27 April 1995: "Less than twenty years ago I was the target of a terrorist group. It was the New World Liberation Front. They blew up power stations and put a bomb at my home when my husband was dying of cancer. And the bomb didn't detonate. [...] I was very lucky. But, I thought of what might have happened. Later the same group shot out all the windows of my home. [...] And, I know the sense of helplessness that people feel. I know the urge to arm yourself because that's what I did. I was trained in firearms. I'd walk to the hospital when my husband was sick. I carried a concealed weapon. I made the determination that if somebody was going to try to take me out, I was going to take them with me."

Feinstein claims that she has since relinquished both the handgun and the concealed weapons permit which means nothing, really, when you consider she obtained both at a time she deemed them necessary for herself even though she has hypocritically fought to deny that right to other law-abiding citizens in years since.

Sorry, no... I just read about it on a site that had today's date and assumed that it just happened. It was posted there as news... they did not have the date of the actual shooting on the site, but today's date - which fooled me as I did not hear of it when it actually occurred.

Sorry for any confusion...

I guess it's good to keep stories like this out there in the blogosphere so that others like myself who did not hear this story get to see what Liberals are really all about.

Remember who his lawyer was? Joe Cheshire, the man who defended the Duke Lacrosse players when Mike Nifong tried to lynch them.
