While the courts continue to debate the legality of same-sex marriage, the battle over gay civil rights is moving into another arena: the classroom.
State Sen. Mark Leno, a San Francisco Democrat, introduced legislation this week that would amend the state education code, mandating that LGBT history be included in the curriculum of public schools. The bill — dubbed the Fair, Accurate, Inclusive and Respectful Education Act — calls for accurate and fair portrayal of LGBT historical figures who have contributed to shaping social and political issues across the nation.
Leno said a shift in education policy would have a ripple effect by curbing widespread bullying of gay teens.
“I think we have all been very disturbed by the phenomenon of bullying and resulting suicides in the news here in California and across the nation in recent months,” said Leno, who is gay. “Information and knowledge is a great antidote to ignorance and fear.”

Fox News reported that the teacher violated a state law requiring that he report the abuse. That former teacher, Kevin Jennings, is President Obama's "safe school czar". ..."
According to Mr. Jennings' own description in a new audiotape discovered by Fox News, the 15-year-old boy met the "older man" in a "bus station bathroom" and was taken to the older man's home that night...".
On the tape, Mr. Jennings recollected that he told the student to make sure "to use a condom" when he was with the older man. That he actively encouraged the relationship is reinforced by Mr. Jennings' own description in his 1994 book, "One Teacher in 10." In that account, the teacher boasts how he allayed the student's concerns about the relationship to such a degree that the 15-year-old "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on the campus for the next two years, until he graduated." ...

Hey queerboy Leno - I have another idea. Make US History MANDATORY in queerifornia public schools. I’m not talking about what books are already on the shelf. Make it MANDATORY that the kids learn about the tragedies of fascism (i.e., the Battle of Stalingrad) as well as the dangers of totalitarianism (i.e. genocide - no less than 20 examples in the 20th century). Teach them how ‘wonderful’ Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler, and the other umteen radicals were in our and the world’s history stage.
If you want to teach kids how to be gay, do it on your own time and the hell out of public schools.

I think you answered your own question. A state whose majority would elect a Klingon as governor is a state that would be more concerned about advancing their gay agenda than they would about being conquered, overrun, or bankrupt.

Schools are being used for social experimentation and other purposes rather than education. That's why CA has one of the worst systems in the nation.
