WASHINGTON -- In a landmark vote, the Senate on Saturday ended the Clinton-era ban on gays serving openly in the military, marking a major triumph for President Obama, liberals and the gay community.

The final vote to end the Pentagon's 1993 "don't ask, don't tell" policy was 65-31, drawing support from eight Republicans.

The bill now goes to the White House for Obama's signature. He is expected to sign the bill into law next week, a senior White House aide told Fox News.

Alright. As of now we no longer have a military fighting force with a mission to defend the U.S. Instead, we have a giant social experiment. I don’t believe for a second that any of these yes-voting senators really have a clue about what they have just done.

they have no right to compel the United States Armed Forces to accept this

Actually, in this country, they have *every* right.

The reports you’ll see in the media will be about the “terrible bigot” knocking the crap out of a gay guy who hit on him. And then all about the “bigot” getting kicked out.

I’ve never heard of a real-world homosexual dying to go in the service. And if it is happening outside my ken then I have to question the motive.

DADT repealed my fat arse...it has simply been transferred over.

Now any that are serving in the military, who have a religious or moral belief/objection against homosexuality— they best keep their mouth shut.

Giving one a right that’s not guaranteed under our constitution, while removing one that that was.

They could already serve, so long as they didn’t go out of their way to engage in sodomy and otherwise act on their homosexuality. This now lets them do that openly. Disgusting.

With Napolitano as homeland security chief and Obama as Potus who cares about national security...it’s all about political liberal agendas.

Not yet - but Scott Brown, Snowe, Collins, and Murkowski were indicating they would vote YES. No surprises.

Every single Republican Senator who voted for this monstrous, immoral, and anti-American piece of anal legislation MUST be defeated. Spare no effort, ever.

“They think that there are no limits to federal power.”

Only when Dems are in control. When Republicans have a majority in Congress, the Dems and their acolytes in the media warn daily about a culture of corruption, abuse of power, congressional railroading of legislation, etc.

If two gay male “sailors” and two lesbian female “waves” get to live together why can’t a straight sailor and a straight wave live together?

"Will not allowing gay soldiers to sleep in the same tent or share a bunk bed amount to discrimination"

It will now....

Next; claim you are "transgender", and DEMAND that you be allowed into the female shower room, and share their bunks.

McCainiac and Graham didn’t have to dirty their hands by voting FOR the bill, as they were assured it already had enough RINO votes to pass.

Every politician who voted for this abomination, or will soon affix their (his) signature to it, is a traitor. The RINOs are particularly despicable, but all are guilty of treason.

Keep the names of the ones that were recently voted in with Tea Party backing and fire them the next time around!

They had nothing to do with this.

"If one can be repealed, so can another"

Not without a Super Majority, and even then, not with the Liberal Courts we have today. Sexual Deviance is considered a protected class now, and "equal protection" is the vehicle that is used to claim "discrimination".
