I mean, really. Why are they even there?
I new the GOP would cave, they always do, they are cowards, they are worthless, and they are going to make sure in 2012 that no serious conservative candidate can win the primary. The Tea Party either becomes the dominate party or the country is lost.
This bill killed the small farmer, put big agra in control of our food, which means far less nutrition, GMO food galore, and tons of foreign food imports with mock regulations.
The final step will be big pharma eliminating the supplement market such that it will take a prescription to get something as simple as vitamin C or D, they are working hard on this. The US is a death cult, 50% of americans will be diabetic by 2020 and it’s no suprise at all. Humans are now a harvest, that is ..., thier illness’s anyway ...
I want the dang list of everyone who voted for this monstrosity.
grrrrrrrrrrrr
“What’s the point of the GOP??
I mean, really. Why are they even there?”
To accept the corporate bribes.
I'm planting a garden this spring. I'm setting up a road-side stand. Anyone trying to "regulate" me will be shot.
I'm done waiting for the "system" to fix itself. That is a pipe dream. It isn't ever going to happen.
Lame duck cannot end fast enough.
WTF? Whyt is all this garbage passing?
I sit here scratching my head, wondering how a bill like this gets passed, and the phrase “follow the money” comes to mind: every whore has his/her price.
Is this confirmed? Did this really pass?
May be an ignorant question but does anyone know when this thing goes into law? How much time does one have to purchase heirloom seeds etc.?
It still has to go before the congress, hopefully they will not allow it to go through.
We can not afford another 17,000 government employees running around trying to decide what farms to shut down on us.
What a clueless bunch of idiots.
“LESS government”
what part do they not get???
Is there not one competent Republican senator in office?
ping
Now I remember why I gave up on politics. The people on our side aren’t really on our side.
This is a very significant vote.
The corporate sponsors of the food bill now control all 100 members of the US Senate. Unanimous means all of them, including Jim DeMint.
Talk about needing to elect more conservatives ignores the apparent reality that representative government has almost totally broken down in the USA. The Senate now appears to primarily represent the interests of multinational corporations, not the states or citizens of the USA.
After 20% of the GOP caucus voted to homosexualize the military, I threw in the towel. I’m no longer a member of that party.
They can have my carrots when they pry them from my cold, dead hands.
How is a “voice vote” constitutional? Isn’t everything they do supposed to be in the Congressional Record?
I noticed that just about all the posted comments regarding this “food safety” legislation were negative. The article from “The Hill” revealed no details of its provisions, some of which are undoubtedly odious. Can someone please fill us in on some of the specifics?
