I had just published an article yesterday entitled, "Google Bans Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) From YouTube: Net Neutrality?" Many other bloggers and passionate supporters of Israel also took action. This morning, I received an email from PMW stating:
PMW wants to personally thank our subscribers and supporters. In response to your many actions - your emails to You Tube, your blogs, tweets, op-eds, and calls to Google - as of this morning the YouTube "Palwatch" account is once again functional.
Just why did Google close PMW's account? I'm sure the answer is obvious to most of you, but the Jerusalem Post already highlighted the explanation yesterday:
... [PMW director Itamar] Marcus said that he suspected that the complaints [against PMW's videos] came from Palestinian or Arab activists who didn't like the fact that the hateful messages were being exposed.
"These types of videos are usually only viewed in Arab society, since they are aired on Arab-language channels. They want to hide the things they only allow themselves to say amongst themselves in Arabic, but we watch it, translate it and send it around the world to decision-makers and the general public," said Marcus. ...
The truth hurts, especially when someone wants to lie -- in a society where lying ("Taqiyya") is blessed by its predominant religion. But ya' can't hide from the truth in the Internet age.
great news.
But we must use alternatives to Google products.
Use youtube for the traffic, sure. But then direct people to your “homepage” at
which is owned by newsbusters, or something similar to that
Google’s monopoly — which I admit has been fueled by it having a good business model — still scares me. So much control over so much of the Internet. I agree. There are alternatives.
But even the alternatives have thorns. ;^)
I started with AOL, and bought Netscape Navigator to replace the crippling AOL browser; they specifically cached pages so you didn't get live feed, plus the pop-over/pop-under ads drove me nuts.
Now I use Firefox, because the number of Add-On features really helps keep it clean:
I also set it to clear everything when I close down except what I have specifically allowed or retained. I borrowed my daughter's Win7 laptop and hated it - drove me nuts until I loaded up FF and taught her how to set it up.
One thing I always block - even here at FR - is google-analytics; "View Source" and scan to the bottom of the page - it's in there!
Good luck.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Did you actually buy a copy? I remember seeing it on shelves at Office Depot way back when in the Jurassic
Yes.
I was conservative back then too. Plus it beat the 'ell out of Infernal Exploder 1.5 on Win95. :^)
I used Internet Explorer back then. I was new to computers so did not know enough to know if it was good or bad
What I do remember was how crude and ugly Yahoo was with a depressing stark gray background
Oh, boy. Now we can watch Mickey Mushaahid again!
