The configuration and physical impact of the bomb detonated last Saturday in Stockholm is best left for forensic specialists to evaluate. For the rest of us, the most important aspect of the event is that it constitutes yet another warning for the unctuously self-righteous, effeminate and oblivious West that Islamist attacks are based on what we do, not who we are and how we think.
Taymour Abdul Wahab, the dead bomber, claimed his attack was motivated by Sweden’s contribution of five hundred troops to the U.S.-led Afghan war, the media’s printing of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad and other Western actions harming Muslims. In other words, he was willing to die because of what he saw as lethal Western attacks on his faith and brethren; the bomber’s e-mail to police told non-Muslim Swedes: “Now your children, daughters and sons will die like our brothers and sisters are dying.” Wahab did not claim that he acted because of his hatred for women in the Swedish workplace, local elections in Stockholm or the existence of democracy in Scandinavia. Since 9/11, hatred for Western actions in the Muslim world invariably has been identified by Islamist attackers in the United States, Australia, Britain, and other European countries as their principle motivation. Now popularly referred to as “home-growns," the great bulk of the evidence clearly shows these young Muslim males are motivated by the West’s policy toward Muslim peoples and nations.
In reality, the attackers have not been “home-grown” in the sense of being alienated or, to use the current social-(psuedo)science buzzword, “radicalized” by their immediate cultural and political surroundings. Most were educated, well-adjusted and functioning members of the Western state in which they lived. It was Western foreign policy vis-à-vis Muslim lands—what the Stockholm bomber called the “war being waged on Islam”—that nurtured their eagerness to defend Islam and Muslims by waging war at home. It was not the lifestyles of their fellow countrymen.
The endlessly repeated assertions by Western leaders and government-grant-hungry social scientists that the so-called home-grown attackers have been “radicalized” by Islamist scholars and preachers who are not orthodox Muslims, or by some disfigured, hijacked form of Islam, or by hatred for gender equality and liberty are nonsense elevated to common wisdom. They now have us fighting a “criminal” enemy that does not exist, rather than the growing, scripture-based and religiously motivated Islamist enemy that is on offer. We have ignored this reality and are near disaster because we take comfort in the reassuring but utterly false notion that the Islamists are limited in number, un-Islamic and basically criminals. As long as we continue to do so, the number of Muslims in the West—most, like the Stockholm bomber, with college degrees and jobs—willing to pick up arms or bombs will increase, and this proliferation will soon bring the war more fully and bloodily to Europe and the continental United States. And we will have only ourselves to blame. We have been too arrogant to listen to the enemy and understand his motivation; too self-blinded by political correctness to recognize the seriousness, religious legitimacy and breadth of his threat; and too effete to draft and then implement a strategic military-economic-political/diplomatic plan to decisively defeat him.
Finally, for terrorism “experts” who continue to insist that bin Laden and al-Qaeda are no longer influential players in the Islamists’ war, three items are worth noting. First, the Stockholm bomber named his son “Osama.” Second, an al-Qaeda-related website—Shumukh al-Islam—carried a statement by the al-Qaeda-backed Islamic State of Iraq’s War Minister Abu Sulieman al-Nasser identifying Wahab as the bomber, displaying Wahab’s picture, and announcing that the Stockholm attack is “only the beginning of a new era in our jihad . . . we will strike at the heart of Europe.” Third, both of his targets—a country supporting the U.S. in Afghanistan and those blaspheming the Prophet—have long been designated as key targets by Osama bin Laden.
At day’s end, sadly, Western governments are likely to ignore Wahab’s gift of a life ring, and instead will move quickly to waste inordinate amounts of taxpayer money on stoking up the useless de-radicalization programs advocated by social-science charlatans.
What nonsense!
It has long been the case that bin Laden and co explain their action in one political way to their western audience and justify their terror by pointing to the koran and world conquest when talking to their fellow muslims.
The terrorists do not explain their motives out of the goodness of their hearts. The statements they make are themselves part of their efforts to promote islam. By blaming the west they are exploiting the self-hatred of the hippies who figure they can make it stop by submitting to the muslims. But there will always be a fresh excuse for new terror and new demands. But in the end it has nothing to do with western activities in the muslim world.
Of course, Wahab’s word is the unvarnished TRUTH with the capital ‘T’.

This was an intrusion into the Stockholm city center, largely reserved for elites, to whom Islam is something found on the "blue line" past certain stops.
Maybe the more rural Swedes who are forced to live in the zip codes closer to Islam are waking up. The elites? Gonna take a whole lot more than this.
Islam always lies. It is all part of their strategy. Oh he was radiacalized oh this or that. No it is Islam in general. Keep watching TV cause the Saudis have money and editorial control over all 6 US TV networks.
Well, the Swedendemocrats, the one party who oppose the islamic conquest, score a record 7% on opinion polls so some people are waking from their slumber.
But it is still far too little. The media and major parties are still committed to the mass migration, and ordinary Swedes are too ignorant/stupid to react to their country having similar rape statistics as Lesotho in Africa...
Btw, the walkie-talkie found is a pretty good hint that the guy wasn’t working alone in this attack.
Kind of interesting, this also happened at the end of Nobel week as well. I was over in Sweden for it and got home last Mon night. On Saturday (day of bombing), I went up the red line to visit two universities - KTH and Stockholm U. I have a Swedish friend who lives near Copenhagen who I also saw when I was there and he lives near Malmo. He doesn’t understand islam and what it stands for.
For the Nobel week, I needed to rent a tux and got it from a shop near downtown from some Lebanese people, very nice and they were Orthodox Christians. Otherwise I didn’t see as many islamic type people as I thought I would see but also I mostly stayed in the downtown area by the waterfront and the area near the NK Department store.
OMG ! Nice looking and I saw quite a few really good looking Swedish girls when I was in Stockholm. One thing if I was 22 years old and single, I would be over there now but I would probably get myself in a lot of trouble !

Today’s Austin American Statesman newspaper had on it’s editorial page side by side editorials by different columnists. Sorry, did not save it. One columnist wrote about a young 13 year old Muslim girl named Ibrahim. The other column was about a Muslim woman who was/is a doctor in the Sudan. The 13 year old Muslim girl was a victim of her fellow Muslims. The lady Muslim doctor was and is a hero but is in extreme danger from certain of her fellow Muslims each and every day. You see, the 13 year old was stoned to death by a thousand person mob in recent days because she was raped multiple times and had the temerity to report it to police! Never-mind the reported reasoning for the official stoning, it is too stupid and insulting to belabor on this forum. The Muslim doctor on the other hand has taken on the entire militant Muslim population in her country (Sudan) regarding her running of a 1,900 acre hospital there helping 90,000 of her countrymen and basically told them all (the AK 47 toting punks who laid waste to her hospital) to “go to hell” and not only that but, after the shooting stopped, she demanded an apology from their “leadership” and received it! When her daughter, a doctor in the U.S., begged her to “drop it” and “give it up”, Mom told the daughter “No, at least I will die with my honor.”
My point: I’m sure most of us freepers would agree that when the day comes that we see CAIR and other Muslim leaders worldwide stand up publicly and loudly and OFTEN and proclaim “ENOUGH!!!” to the Ibrahim type stories and “Hooray!!!” for the Muslim doctor type stories we might then begin to be a little more understanding of Muslim issues in general, notwithstanding 9-11 which still rankles some of us! Somebody please let me know when that day happens because every time a liberal comes on opining about how I should be more “understanding” of Muslims I hit the mute on the first syllable. At my age, I’m getting to the point I just can’t take liberal babbling anymore!
By and large you will not see it there. That is very central Stockholm. Mostly the elites, expats and tourists. Now take the red line about 30 minutes out of the city and get off at Kista. You will think you are in Islamabad once evening comes and the corporate types head home.
