I don't know about you, but I used to be "reasonable", know that even though we disagree with Liberal Democrats, we should try for peace, and friendship (personally, not policy wise). NOT ANYMORE. They have "poisioned the well" for me; after the way this Lame Duck Congress, their allies in the media, this Whitehouse, and their various liberal constituencies (including the group of libertarians who Hate social conservatives) have pushed through POLICY which have destroyed this nation. I have changed my mind. LIBERALS ARE SCUM, every single on of them (all who call themselves liberal) ARE SCUM. I CAN'T EVEN STOMACH WATCHING ANY OF THEM ON TV, I just should to Get off, "You're Scum"~!
The way they have handled themselves in this lame-cluck Congress, after losing power is shameful, and will not cause any good will between conservatives, or even moderate-Conservative independents and themselves.

You know, I could get hacked off and start some real crap with you for responding to me so insolently, but I took a look at your brief posting history and have decided to give you a bit of advice, instead.
Free Republic isn't like the comments section of a news blog or some such. You can spit in anyone's eye on those boards, and no one but the site moderators care much about it.
But, you're now a member of a long-established community of conservatives - many of whom have been posting to this site for many years. Lots of us know each other on a first name basis, and strong friendships and bonds abound here.
That said, there is a real sense of order and established rules of decorum here. Call them "the rules", if you want. Some are stated by the site owner, Jim Robinson, and some are tacit agreements among the many thousands of regulars who post here.
One of the better known, but unstated "rules", is that newcomers to the site are expected to spend some time getting to know the regulars, and letting the regulars to get to know them, before they start cracking wise, or otherwise lobbing ad hominems at others. I noticed that you've done that to a few regulars since you signed up.
Seeing how you haven't even had your account for a month yet, I can forgive you for not knowing these things.
Understand also that the regulars of the site are quite protective of each other, and will not long abide foul treatment of well-established members.
Do chill, friend. Best to wear your thicker hide for a bit while we get to know you.
Lucky you! 99% of my family are liberal, and I don't forgive a single one of them for holding that viewpoint. It's destructive, no matter who you are.
I can't help what emotional bonds I have with them, but the analytical side of me doesn't give them any slack for their liberal views. I'll be honest with you - I've had to cut ties with the more militant libs in my family.
Sadly, it's come to that point in America.
That is sad. It is the same in my family.
I often wonder to myself how people who grew up in the same environment, with the same parents can have such divergent views, but you know, we're all individuals under the skin. They're not me, and I'm not them. They choose to remain on the Democrat mind control plantation, and I choose freedom.
The trouble is, this is all such a deadly serious business. The very survival of our country is on the line, and those who support the leftists in power are aiding and abetting the enemies of The People.
What are you supposed to do in a situation like that? Compromise your reality and your principles, and ignore a family member's support of treason? I can't do it.
I've done my best to bring them into the light, but they're poisoned beyond all redemption. I'm sorry, but I have to leave them to their fates.
