WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama's administration said Thursday it will regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, after legislation on climate change died in Congress.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said it would regulate fossil fuel power plants and petroleum refineries -- which together emit nearly 40 percent of US greenhouse gases -- starting in 2012.

It’s time to fossilize the EPA.

Short of a complete collapse or civil war, how does this stop.

Well, you sure can't stop it by rolling over and giving up.

First suggestion, decide to fight back.

Second step, start looking for ways to do anything you can to resist. This includes barraging your Senate and House reps with communications.

If you haven't already, join your local Tea Party and get to work. They've got more work for you than you can handle, and need every warm body they can get.

It's all too easy to sit around here moaning and whining about how bad it all is. If we're not doing everything in our power to resist the destruction of our country, then we've got no right to complain when our freedoms are diminished.

Build 100 new nuke plants NOW - permits granted automatically in 2 years after application.

Use only three designs. Let the utilities pick the best three and then limit their choices to the top three. Then let ex-Navy nuclear personnel run the plants on 2-5 year rotations. Pay them very, very well.

Then build a an overlay grid for these plants to distribute power to the current grid.

BTW, put virus/worm protection everywhere!

Many problems solved at once.

FWIW

Oh my, getting out the paraffin wax, making wicks, trying to remember how to make a windmill which creates electricity, and hoping we won’t have to pay “Jizya” for all them NASA/Islamic satellites as the FCC just dropped a bomb on the internet, and Obama continues to dismantle America seemingly unscathed. What will it take? How much longer before America turns to just what the WH is hoing for, a street batttle replete with new FC guidlines similar to Moscow’s old news stations or TV in North Korea....must find my old hurricane lamps.brb

Congress could dissolve or restrict the EPA in 2011

They would need Obama's signature.

>Can’t we impeach him and reverse his decrees?<

Nope, never have the votes for impeachment.
Reversing his decrees will be just as hard without the votes and a new CIC to sign it.

the best way is to show him as the usurper that he is .. no long form, no NBC .. all of this is null and void. EVERY DARN BIT OF IT

I’m siding with both of you.

The “stack” has 2 sections. The larger lower section has a rolled lip that indicates it as a muffler, most likely a tractor or OTR Truck.

The interface between the smaller upper section and the “smoke shows the tell-tale “white line” of cutting in on most graphics editing software.

If it isn’t “shopped”, it could be the morning start-up of a diesel truck or farm tractor.

Looks like a steam plume to me.

Note how it isn’t “connected” to the stack. As the hot water vapor comes out of the stack and hits the cold atmosphere, there’s is a delay before it turns into a cloud.

I think it is past time that any kind of protest will be heeded. The only thing that would focus their attention is lead whizzing past their ears.

Family ties keeping me here.

Well, I understand that. I also faced that situation five years ago, before I relocated to Texas.

In the end, I decided that although my wife and I could tough it out, I couldn't make that choice for my children. I felt it was more important for me to put them in an environment where they had the maximum amount of personal freedom when they came of age.

It wasn't my place to choose for my siblings, parents, cousins, etc. They're grown people, and have to make their own choices. I hated like hell to move so far away from them, and the beloved ground of my home state, but I also understood that historic forces were compelling me to do something I would never have dreamed of previously.

Historic forces compelled my grandfathers to move to California from the Deep South nearly 70 years ago. Comes a point where a person has to confront what is, and make the most pro-survival choice for their immediate family.

Good luck.

This is a bit F__k You and Merry Christmas from Barack Hussien Obama.

Get ready for more or get rid of him.

We would need 67 Senators to do that. I don't even think we could get all of our RHINOs to vote yea, much less peeling away the 10 additional PinkoCommieLib™ dems required to convict on an impeachment charge.

The Crusade against Freedom by the eternal order of Do Gooders will have us all living in tents, standing in Government run soup lines, begging those in power for Government jobs.

Something tells me that these so-called “Do Gooders” are nothing more than a front for a form of Government that Marx or maybe Kafka would appreciate.

America had better wake the hell up or else they will become slaves of their Central Government Masters.

Dear leader seems bound and determined to make life very bad for the average American...so I wonder what he has planned for himself when things go to hell and people are looking for blood?

That is NOT a paper plant, but I am am fairly certain the exhaust pipe is a muffler from an Earth Mover or other large diesel . This picture was was obviously shot at either sunrise or sunset, as the light is at/slightly below the horizon, and at one side. Even the tint on this one is due to the shadow of the (probably rising) sun.

Yep.

Here is another "paper plant."
