I believe in justice. This man deserved his day in court. My two oldest were molested as children and never got justice, but I do believe in the rule of law.

They never went to the police and decided to take justice into their own hands. That being said, if the police and justice system keeps predators of little children in the community and label them as simply “sick” then this will be more common. Why? People don’t just want justice like you want a nice car or a new stove. Humans NEED justice. Take that out of the criminal justice system and people will get justice one way or another. Someone hurts my babies, a hole will be pre-dug with lime ready. I would sleep like a baby that night as well.

It’s astonishing how many people on Free Republic are absolutely committed to upholding the US Constitution except when it comes to a man, invariably a man, accused by someone else of being a child molestor, usually to justify their own much more serious crimes.

Because they didn’t give him the chance to have a fair trial according to the Constitution of the United States the only thing we can know for certain is that Mark Gebler is the victim in this story and his murderers are criminals.

No, You’ve got it wrong. We think there should be a trial, and then if he is found guilty the punishment should be meted out by the family of the victim with no restraint.
No, I have got it right, read the comments of the posters I replied to, everyone of them assumed Mark Gebler was guilty and needed no trial, the word of self confessed criminals is sufficient for them to believe that he was a child molestor and could be murdered with impunity and his body dumped like a dog.
All the posters seem to believe that the US Constitution is not that important when someone screams “child molestor”, I hope the same thing never happens to them.

I think if it can be conclusively proven, male and female child molestors need to have their genetalia chopped off.
I think that kind of sentencing would really start reducing the pervs from actually trying it.
Touch a kid, lose a penis. Or your labia and clitoris. Hey, gotta make it a deterrent. Pervs live for stimulation. Take away their ability to be stimulated and they will be in a bigger hell than ever.

You are missing the point. It isn't that this is a good or desirable thing. The problem is that molesters get probation whiles insurance frauds get 30 years.
Our court system just doesn't take it seriously, so people take matters into their own hands.
Nice rant. Not altogether untrue. Perhaps it is because we see actual justice so seldom, that we subconsciously wish to deal it out ourselves.
Most of us can tell a story of a molested child and someone who walked away unpunished. Many times it is a parent.

You simply accept at face value the excuses that self confessed murderers have made up to justify their crime, I mean hey, it’s not like a murderer would lie or anything is it?
The reason the murderers use the excuse of calling their victim a child molestor is because they know that there are enough boneheads out there, like you, who will automatically look favourably on the extra-judicial killing of such men.
Go and read the US Constitution, Article Three, Section Two, might be of interest to you. That’s if you can manage such complex issues as the right to fair trial.

You called the victim of cold blooded murder a “rodent” and you completely condoned his murder, an utterly despicable and unChristian and unAmerican thing to do. I called you a bonehead, in the circumstances that was a charitable thing to call you.
