Sanitation Department's slow snow clean-up was a budget protest (NYC union thugs)
NY Post ^ | 12/30/10 | SALLY GOLDENBERG, LARRY CELONA and JOSH MARGOLIN

These garbage men really stink.

Selfish Sanitation Department bosses from the snow-slammed outer boroughs ordered their drivers to snarl the blizzard cleanup to protest budget cuts -- a disastrous move that turned streets into a minefield for emergency-services vehicles, The Post has learned.

Should be prison time for the Union Bosses. But this is Congress who failed to pass laws making this a criminal offense. They should be brought up on manslaughter charges for the deaths they contributed to.

And while those protesters are whining....

(New York) State put freeze on hiring, then added 51,464 people

Check out the price tag while keeping in mind that NYS has driven out so many people, we're about to lose 2 House seats.

"Bloomberg and Doherty also offered a series of excuses for the failed response to the blizzard. They blamed residents for shoveling snow into streets that had already been plowed..."

Sorry, but if the streets had been plowed correctly, the citizens who cleared their cars could not have caused such congestion. Landlords are supposed to keep their sidewalks spotless at all ties least the sanitation cops give them fines. Stop blaming the people who did clean.

In the SUV video, notice how spotless the sidewalk was on the side the SUV was parked. Across the street from it is a park. That sidewalk obviously has not been touched with either a plow or shovel. Landlords keep the city clean, not the sanitation workers.

As to the union dudes who sabotaged the clean-up, do they think they'll get raises and keep their jobs? Where do they think the money is coming from? trees? Landlords are taxes enough already. Unions are thieves.

IIRC, NYC was bailed out by the Feds in 1914 and 1975.

I expect that's where they think the money will come from.

So New York, how’s that all workin out for ya? You elect idiots to run your city and guess what, you get what you deserve!

Not fair. NYC has so many liberals packed together in one place, it's like one big rats nest.
Years ago, the people of upstate wanted the state divided into north and south NY. Ideologies were opposite. NYC was making all the rules for the rest of the state. (NYC is that little booger hanging off the lower right bottom of the state on the map.)
Upstate almost pulled it off until the Jewish population in NYC decided to demand their own state due to religious ideology. Because NYC wasn't willing to give part of their city to the Jews, the negotiations failed (Personally, I think NYC put the Jews up to it. Without our tax dollars going to the NYC dependents, they'd be screwed.)
Since then, the liberals have been building welfare housing complexes all over Upstate. In our very small county alone there's hundreds of them. The welfare has spread so far and wide, people are leaving the state in droves. Pretty soon, the only people who will be left will be government dependents. NYS will be nothing but one big welfare complex.

Is there another tonight?

I don't think so. I thought they were doing it tonight.

Darn. I missed it. I wanted to attend, too. (/s)

Got to love public union employees.

They are more concerned about themselves then the public they serve.

There is a missing sense of community responsibility and duty in these folks.

Like they are missing part of their soul to let children die because ambulances could not reach their homes due to the purposely unplowed snow.

Lot of finger pointing.

Too much trouble for you to read the article before you start supporting these criminal thugs?

Here, try this little spoon full if you cannot read the whole article.

"They were told [by supervisors] to take off routes [and] not do the plowing of some of the major arteries in a timely manner. They were told to make the mayor pay for the layoffs,

It isn't finger pointing when you have witnesses to the crime.

Upstate still needs its own state. It’s time we took another look at statehood.

It wouldn't be as easy now because of the welfare influx. The division debate was before the left littered Upstate with all those crummy complexes. They've spread their little rats around the state like a disease.

People died from this storm because of this nonsense. People need to be arrested and charged for murder. I hope these people can live with themselves for the damage they have done.

The BAD guys are the damn union thugs who obstructed traffic! Even an IDIOT should be able to see this!

You union supporters are probably glad the baby died just to drive your point home. Scum the lot of you!

Fire 1/3 of the employees and give the jobs to the unemployed. Next year fire another 1/3 and so on.

What is a NYC Sanitation Workers Salary:

The top salary of $66,672 is only the tip of the iceberg for active sanitation worker compensation because it excludes other things like overtime and extra pay for certain assignments. For example, one worker in 2009 had a salary of $55,639 but actually earned $79,937 for the year.

And many retirees get full health care coverage for themselves and their families as well, through the New York City Health Benefits Program — where they get to enjoy such benefits as prescription drug coverage , dental, and eye care, without having to pay a nickle on premiums.

According to an October report from the Empire Center for New York State Policy, New York City has nearly $63 billion in unfunded liabilities for government retiree health benefits — effectively shoveling $7,343 per city resident into public workers’ pockets.

It’s important to note that Leftists are very good a concerted efforts. Conservatives, on the other hand, can’t even mount a simple act of civil disobedience.
