I am afraid none of the “front runners” can win. Sarah is great, but has already been marginalized and painted as a joke (and her little reality show gig makes her look even less serious), Romney is actually a democrat, Huckabee has a Willie Horton problem and is not presidential, Gingrich was great 15 years ago, but has too much personal baggage.
The second tier candidates look much better, but are unknown.
I think the left and the rino’s keep saying she’s unelectable because they are scared to death of her. They think if they say it long enough and loud enough, maybe it’ll be true.
Thanks Buford. Someone else had defined a concern troll as an attention whore but I didn’t think that one fit.
Sarah has my vote and my support. I will work for her election and win.
Bad photoshop job.
i agree, and even in this well done article, the so-called reasons that she isnt electable are not reasons, as in a definite fact the precludes here winning, but excuses for people to use when they cant figure out what exactly is it that supposedly makes sarah so ‘devisive’ and all that crap...
RE: Where half the English Department or half the History department used to be ideologically questionable, now its closer to 95%. There are virtually no decent professors left standing.
Well, Cornel West has left your alma mater.
There seems to be a bidding war among the Ivies for his services...
Here’s hoping that his replacement will be much better.
Seriously? You missed the news about the housing market crash? This is what that looks like...housing values drop. A lot. It destroys people.
And before anyone blames Bristol for exploiting someone's hardship, you should know, the house went into foreclosure, was purchased by investors who spruced it up a bit and sold it to her at a profit (to the investors.)
As if I were looking for “bolts out of the blue.” I’m not looking at all. Not taking sides. Not picking any candidates that haven’t thrown their hats in the ring yet. Not weighing their compendium of positions on issues not yet stated until the heat of campaigning begins.
I just don’t care for the cultish behavior of some Freepers with regard to their pet politicians. But that’s been going on for 10+ years.
The moderator must not be a bird-watcher.
Sarah has a personal challenge - to convince nonbelievers that she’s the person the writer describes. If she can do that then voters can make their choice at least knowing who Sarah is.
I’m not sure that there’s no one else more qualified. I like Herman Cain, for one. He has real-world experience and good ideas. I’m just not sold on Sara.
This is the problem.
the mainstream narrative about Sarah Palin is a false caricature.
People who say that as of today, the media narrative is unable to be changed seem very fatalistic at this point.
Opinions can and do change. Sarah is actually lucky, as she has the truth on her side and is not the dim bulb she is made out to be. Far from it.
And I’m not comparing her to Reagan, but they said exactly the same things about him (B-actor just reading his lines, a dunce without an original thought. Bedtime for Bonzo!)
They will ridicule and demean any true conservative.
So you have to decide, can we be tough enough to weather the onslaught of derision from the leftist elites (as Sarah has proven to be, with a smile on her face) or should we just go along with the establishment squish...the Ford’s, Doles, McCains and Romneys?
It’s a choice that I have no trouble making.
You can hold out hope for that amazing ‘white knight’ to ride in from obscurity to lead us out of this mess...but where the heck have they been as Obama was destroying this nation? It’s a pipe dream. The nominee will come from the names already mentioned. There will be no dark horse savior. And Sarah Palin is the most qualified of the bunch.
I’ve thought the same, Buford. I, personally, am nowhere near deciding who my candidate is. “Cultish” is a good word.
She’s like a female Reagan. From my recollection, the powers that be, thought Reagan was unelectable too.
I’m interested in Pence. But I need to know a lot more about him.
It’s interesting that they’ve switched from “unqualified” to “unelectable”....
Now, I’m just waiting for an 0bama voter to spout off about her being “unqualified”...
yeah, right, after YOUR boy?
A concern troll is someone who ostensibly supports the program but has a few “concerns.” IOW, “I like Sarah but ...” and fill in the remainder with whatever the accusation is. Today it is “is she electable”, another time it is “she quit as governor” and on it goes.
“If she decides to run, she has to make the case for her leadership and vision for the future. If she runs, we’ll all find out. Those who say she can’t haven’t been watching her very closely for the past year and a half. “
Indeed LS. If the voters reject what she has to offer then they reject it. Simple as that. However, she should not be bullied or intimidated out of a Primary run and the chance to make her case. I still firmly believe she will want to make that case starting next year.
