The no refusal program being encouraged nationally is stop and check all.

That's called a "dragnet". The Supreme Court specifically ruled that "dragnet" policing was unconstitutional.

A peace officer is supposed to make a complaint against an individual and execute a warrant for the complaint against that individual.

This business of playing "catch and release" with the public is police-state stuff.

If the Police can stop me, arbitarily - and then take my blood - arbitrarily -then I am not a person; but property of a state or goverment.

Do you really think anyone in government, has any problems with this statement? As far as they are concerned, your SS# is your asset tag.

This is wrong, on so many levels it's scary.

...And the number of supporters for this that you'll find on this site is even more frightening IMO.

Of course they are. This is a revenue enhancement venture, nothing more. Illegals aren’t even on their radar.

Has Harris County fixed the problems in their corrupt evidence labs yet?

I am a death-penalty supporter.

But if I was a juror in Houston, I'd never, ever vote for the death penalty based stickily on evidence from the Harris County Crime Lab.

What Fifth Amendment? It’s kaput. We lost that and our other rights when big government on 9-12-01 went from serving the people, to making each and every one of us guilty until proven innocent. Some say driving is not a right, maybe. That doesn’t mean I gave up all my CONSTITUTIONAL rights to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is a slippery slope that we are on and it will be too late when we have lost our rights.

They are soon going to drag our butts out in the street and take whatever samples they deem necessary, as they will randomly deem you a suspect without any evidence to the contrary.

I read my driver’s license and I don’t see where I gave up my right against self incrimination or any other rights.

I may not have a right to drive, but that isn’t about giving up the Constitution. If we can justify even losing one notch of our US Constitutional rights for any reason (DUI, security, terrorists, etc) we are doomed to lose our country.

I’ll take my chances and face terrorists or DUI drivers before I’ll accept losing my Constitution. The wimps who want to cave into the demands of a dictatorial autocratic government need to find another nation.

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

blatant violation. let’s count the ways:
1. my blood IS my person.
2. no warrant issued
3. no probable cause
4. no person’s name listed

why isn’t this being attacked in the courts? why is no one stepping up to do their job and fight the obvious violation?

btw... this isn’t about catching the random drug user.

this is DNA collection
