TAMPA, Fla. -- Deputies in Florida say a man accused of stabbing his 6-year-old son more than 20 times has been charged with attempted murder.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says in a press release that 23-year-old Xavier Thomas had been watching New Year's Eve fireworks with relatives late Friday. Deputies say Thomas took his son to a play area in the apartment complex once the fireworks were over.

I'm not going to defend this guy, but before I read the much more complete story in the Tampa paper, I was ready to hate him and condemn him.

However, this guy is not right mentally/emotionally. Supposedly, he recently witnessed, up close and personal, the deaths of two people in separate instances, one was a friend and those events apparently messed him up. He has been seen by family talking to his now dead friend as though he is still alive and those close to him were concerned well before this happened.

Doesn't make it right and of course I'm not defending him, but this looks like a real insanity case.

So...I'm just saying that from what I read, this guy is not right in his head and he needs help more than condemnation.

You say, "... this looks like a real insanity case."

Yet, the article says, "About a half hour later, Thomas returned without the boy and ran away when his relatives asked about the boy."

Generally, insanity applies when the perpetrator's grasp of reality is such that they are truly unaware of their wrongdoing. People who are unaware of having done something wrong seldom run away.

Attempted Murder ! !

That devoted father/cannibal was just trying to tenderize the boy.

Where is your appreciation for multi-culturalism?

The elder Thomas’ grandmother Yvonne Mickles told The Tampa Tribune that her grandson had been coping with mental problems since he saw two of his friends shot to death in two separate incidents.

“One of the boys died in his arms,” Mickles said.

Mickles claims Thomas was treated for the trauma as recently as six weeks ago.

What I am saying is twofold:

1 I don't know what happened, but I know that what I read in the Tampa paper was more complete than the WaPo version.

2. The Tampa paper's version made me take step back from my initial reaction to the story's headline.

So, in this case, please excuse my reluctance to rush to judgement before I know the 'rest of the story' beyond what WaPo wants to tell us.

It appears we will devolve into a melange of self-organizing communities; those who survive,

this is on the mind and in the works, I suspicion, around the country.

I'm a great grandmother. I've been around long enough to see a lot of stuff of stuff go down - NEVER thought I'd see such disingration of our country and certainly not as fast (of course, it isn't that fast. It's been just reached the tipping point of what the undermining that's been going on for decades.)

But back to what I started to say - in response to your post.

I live in a rural area - got back here 30 years ago - by choice. I was down to the Village store today - (It's a one store town and we have a general store, complete with a few tables down back where get coffee, eats, do the daily crossword puzzle and chew the fat.

In the course of conversation, I remarked that it might be time to start looking for like minded people to form a small community and dig in. Whoa. I was surprised at the response.

They totally and seriously agreed with me, had all been doing the same thinking - and we got into details.

I and some of my 'kids' have been leaning this way for some time now and I know from forums and blogs online that others are too. But it took me aback some that the whole group at the store have also been thinking on this - and putting in supplies...growing double the size gardens, etc.

Not sure if that is reassuring or disturbing - I think a bit disturbing because it verifies for me that this danger is very real.

I'm beginning to feel like the people you read about in history books and the steps before their civilization collapsed.

it’s sure starting to feel like it.

I’m sure as he*l thankful that, at least, I don’t live in or near any cities...and that I have a wood stove and my own well...

Well, in any case, I bet the kid, who did survive according to the article, will be pretty traumatized every time he sees fireworks or when New Year’s rolls around, huh?

Evil floods the land . . . hell has been disgorging demonic forces at an increased rate.

Yup, I'm convinced that someone (Crowley? Illuminati? The pizza delivery kid?), somehow (Ritual sacrifice? Atomic bomb? State-sponsored abortion?) opened a "Nephilim Stargate", and the demonic equivalent of Katrina is pouring in, and Earth is about 1000 ft. below sea level...

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

That’s remarkable, isn’t it? People we run into in the course of just going about living- lots of them are thinking the same things we are.

In the last 6 months I’ve had conversations with the cable guy and the fellow who put the tile in the kitchen ..they are both up to here with what’s going on and are wondering how to prepare, what to do, etc.

It’s simmering just beneath the surface.

Well put.

Adding the puzzle piece of a Christian prophetic source asserting before our last adventure in Iraq that if we went in, the gates of hell would be opened wider and masses of demonic forces would be loosed . . .

with a curious puzzle piece about

a whistleblower archeologist type contacted by the government about a device that had been found in Iraq that they needed to know how to operate it . . . ancient device . . . the short of it ended up sounding very occultic but powerful.

The archeologist asserted that this device was a major reason for the Iraq war—to insure that we got it and no one else.

Yes, remarkable -and very unsettling.

I don't think, though, that many yet realize how precarious things really are and how fast they can clamp down if they decide too.

I have a son who is a long hauler. Let me just say this: In the last 2 years, over half a million truckers have been deliberately and systematically been put off the road -a nd thousands of small trucking companies closed their doors. The gov’t, besides breaking their back with rising fuel cost, last year rolled out another fiat, again aimed at the O/O’s (Onwer/Operators - i.e. independents) to get them off the road. That shoved another whole layer off the road. This July, anther ‘fiat’ will be imposed that cannot be complied with due to it's edict.

The gov’t has been systematically whittling the trucking companies down to a few BIG outfits. the ones that want to stay in business had best play ball or they're off the list. Play ball and you get the extra business and the new business, like picking up shipping containers on the Calif docks - from China.

NOW - once they've got their ducks in a row - and they're real close - they nationalize the industry - just like they did with the auto/college loans/health care - and they are owners of the age-old despots dream: “He who controls the food, controls the people.”

If trucks don't roll, food doesn't either. Or it arrives when and in what quantities the gov’t says. there is enough food in the local supermarkets for ONE DAY.

How long would it take to control the people?

Many people do see this and are are putting in stores of food and growing gardens and buying land to become more independent - and establishing local networks to buy local...

We live in perilous times. We are on the brink of the abyss. Pray enough new people are taking their seat in DC today to throw the monkey wrenches in the socialist gears, slowing them long enough for us to get another layer of REAL people in their to help =

Meanwhile, out here in the rest of the country, it's going to be up to us to prepare for our own survival to get over the hump.
