Discussed among friends in Central Texas concerning a prayer request.
Attempts to post to FreeRepublic failed, "server not found."
Funny you should ask... I logged on 30 minutes ago!
This is what I got...
www.freerepublic.com is not set up to establish a connection on port “world wide web service (HTTP)”
with this computer...
Now can the computer guys here on free republic explain in laymens terms what this means?

Yes, I was very concerned.
FR needs to have some type of method to commuincate to its members when it’s off-line.
I was even checking TWITTER to try and find out any info...
The electrons don’t always work. Amazing this stuff works as well as it does.
In plain English, FR lost its connection to the Internet for several hours.

FR was down for awhile. I think it’s the server. That’s what it’s been in the past.

It has a secondary site on yahoo I think and a Canadian sister site...
I think that would mean that the site is expecting a microsite. Or something like that.
From what I understand, the turbo encabulator is getting a bit old and the prefamulated amulite casing is a little warped, which occasionally causes friction against the panametric fram. This causes it to slow down below the critical speed and it can no longer synchronize with the cardinal grahmmeter.
Or something like that.
I have websites for clients and sometimes they call and say they can’t get their site to come up. I check from other locations and it is all fine.
I’m sure there is someone one here that can explain it all with expertise - that is after all a big plus about FR. Waiting for our lesson...
It hasn’t logged me out, but I’ve had numerous time-outs and blank pages (depending on which device I’m using.)
I don’t think FR is fully recovered yet.

Dunno,...I went to freerepublic2 to find out it was down again by the good posters there...the read some zerohedge.com...but finally ended up reading at libertypost.org (freeper-like site with many ex-freepers)
(I only post at freerepublic, though)
